    The Digital Learning Specialist (DLS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining instructional technology and tools to support Family Education and Support at Children’s Home Society of NC. The DLS works in partnership with the Permanency Support Trainers to promote distance learning opportunities and create on-demand webinars and other types of e-learning content. The DLS will also work collaboratively with the Marketing team to promote awareness and knowledge of CHS training online resources. The Digital Learning Specialist brings knowledge of eLearning platforms, instructional design, graphics, photography and videography to enhance learning and expand access to training.

    Primary Job Functions

    • Areas of Responsibility
    • Development and implementation of eLearning platform
    • Work with Permanency Support Trainers to create and maintain a library of on-demand webinars, learning modules, and digital training resources.
    • Graphics and multimedia support for training
    • Review and reconceptualize existing training curricula for optimal online delivery
    • Coach and support Permanency Support Trainers on the use of eLearning tools and technology.
    • Work with Marketing to maintain training section of website.
    • Work with Marketing to develop and maintain a training blog to enhance engagement with clients.
    • Work collaboratively with Supervisor, Trainers, Training Coordinators, and other staff to further the use of technology in creating training and expanding 24/7 access to content.

    Job Qualifications

    Education, Licenses & Certifications:

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with a focus on marketing, graphic design or communication preferred.


    Experience:

    • Minimum of at least two (2) years’ experience, with demonstrated success preferred.

     


    Competencies

    Knowledge of:

    • E-Learning content creation software
    • Foster care, adoption – work or lived experience

    Skills and Proficiency in:

    • Experience and skill with multimedia, videography, and graphics
    • Experience with website and/or e-learning design and blogging
    • Demonstrated initiative, ability to work in a self-directed capacity
    • Capable of managing multiple projects, deadlines and priorities


    Ability to:

    • Travel to CHS offices and training sites within North Carolina
    • Maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and access to an operating vehicle to attend CHS business.
    • Pass a criminal background and central registry check

     


    Schedule Expectations

    This position is a salary exempt job that will require some weekends and evenings work, along with the standard scheduled week. The ability to work flexible hours is required to meet business needs. If working remotely, it will be required to be available by telephone and email during specified hours as required. Occasional travel and overnight travel is required to conduct business-related activities.
