After adding many exciting new features in Moodle 4.3, the Moodle HQ team has already started working on the next major Moodle LMS version to be released i.e. Moodle 4.4. In this post we will see what are the new features coming in Moodle 4.4 version.

The Moodle 4.4 version is scheduled to be released in April 2024. It will be having a lot of new features added in the LMS. Here is a glimpse of the new features:

  • Ordering Question type in Moodle Core – The project contributed by Moodle users Association will be included in Moodle core in 4.4 version. It is one of the most popular question type which was voted by MUA members to be included in Moodle LMS.
  • Further improvements to Moodle Question Bank – Continuing the improvements of Question bank, there will be further enhancements done in the Question bank.
  • Enhanced LTI integration in Moodle ecosystem
  • Enhancing the functionality and ease of use of Moodle Assignments.
  • Reviewing and simplifying Administration Settings.
  • Implementing new Course Hierarchy functionality.
  • Improving Notifications functionality.
  • Getting ready for upcoming upgrade to Bootstrap 5 and the implementation of key changes to Web Services Architecture.

In addition, there are many new improvements added in Moodle Workplace 4.3, which is scheduled to be released in next week. The new features coming in Moodle Workplace 4.3 includes:

  • Easier organization structure management
  • Seamless public page creation with custom pages
  • Automated learning plan actions
  • Automated course grade actions
