Taiwan based CakeResume Raises $4.7M In Series A Round To Expand Operations

-

CakeResume, an international talent platform providing the world’s top online resume-building tool and bringing global opportunities to talent in the digital age, has recently raised $4.7 million (TWD150 million) in its Series A round led by MyNavi, one of Japan’s most prominent human resources companies.

With the capital, the Taiwan-based company plans to expand its offering of networking resources, including a new “Talent Network” function on its mobile app that allows users to swipe on the profiles of people they want to meet. The goal is facilitating meetings between job seekers, headhunters, and mentors, making it easier for professionals to expand their network and explore new opportunities.

The startup, which initially started in 2016 as a resume-building software, has developed a tech talent database to bridge the shortage of tech professionals in Taiwan and the rest of Asia. Headquartered in Taipei, the firm currently boasts a user base of 5 million individuals worldwide and serves over 7,000 clients who rely on the platform to find suitable job candidates. Tech giants like Google, L’Oreal, and TSMC use it.

“We aim to transform Asia into a global hub for technology talent. By building an AI-powered talent search engine and talent matching system, CakeResume helps enterprises accelerate the recruitment process,” the startup said on its website.

In addition to enhancing its features and functionality, CakeResume also intends to utilize the funding to support its growth in Southeast Asia, focusing on onboarding more companies from Indonesia. The platform’s success in the region, especially in Indonesia, has paved the way for further expansion opportunities. By strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia, CakeResume aims to become the go-to talent-sourcing platform for regional companies.

Among the companies on its platform are global tech giants Amazon, Google, IBM, Nvidia, TSMC, and international brands, including L’Oreal, P&G, and more.
