Moodle 4.2 – The next major version of the Moodle LMS is scheduled to be released by 24th April. The Quality Assurance testing (QA testing) for Moodle 4.2 is currently ongoing. As per the last update, around 36% tests are marked as passed.
Out of the total 542 issues, 200 issues are marked as closed while another 300 are still open. So, if you are a Moodle community member, you are encouraged to participate in the QA testing. The contributors will also earn a QA tester badge on Moodle.org portal and listed on the Testing Credits page here.
The QA testing is carried out before the release of every major new Moodle version to ensure that the new features are working as expected. The features are tested by real world users and marked as Passed only when they are working without any bugs.
In case you are new to Moodle QA testing and wanted to contribute, then please go through this QA testing guide to get started. And contribute the Moodle 4.2 to pass the 100% QA tests before the release date.
