Team Overview:
As a Sales Training Manager, you’ll be joining the Sales Operations team to help achieve their goals of supporting the revenue team. This can be accomplished in the form of sales process support, reporting, training, as well as coordinating various areas of the business. In an effort to provide the tools needed for sales team members, sales operations will collaborate with multiple departments, from marketing to project management to engineers, to ensure roadblocks to closing revenue are overcome.
Responsibilities
- Provides nationwide Sales Training support for RapidScale and RapidScale Powered by Logicworks
- Develops knowledge of development plans for Sales teams, including objectives, competency / certification, definition and evaluation procedures and appropriate timelines accounting for prioritized team needs
- Assesses knowledge and skills of team members through observation, interviews, and surveys.
- Considers needs / findings when determining training subjects, content, and delivery techniques.
- Executes consistent and well-integrated training for various groups, including:
- New hires,
- Experienced sales staff,
- External training vendors and facilitators,
- Sales partners and channel companies / agents.
- Conducts classroom, field, and online / remote sales training sessions.
- Distributes training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms and visual aids.
- Collect feedback from trainees and managers about training courses
- Report on impact of training programs (e.g., sales achieved)
- Liaise with external trainers or industry professionals and organize seminars
- Maintain updated records of training material, curricula, and costs
- Conduct all facilitator prep work, including the timely distribution of materials; communicate with learners to ensure they know dates, times, locations, and pre-work expectations; arrange the room; and prep any documentation and handouts.
- Schedule course events (i.e., provide input into monthly training calendar, reserve training room(s), setup online sessions, build in LMS, write communication(s) to learners
- Remain current on relevant policies & procedures, and other internal documentation in the Learning Center and Learning Management System (this includes attending key meetings and periodically checking in with stakeholders across the company)
- Recognize common problem topics or activities within the curricula and coordinate with the Learning & Development team to develop a recommended strategy for improving curricula design, materials, and/or facilitation strategies
- Enthusiastically collaborate and brainstorm with fellow L&D team members to increase team knowledge of training products and tools, as well as to grow peer relationships and effectively work together as a whole
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) or internal team members to design, develop, and implement creative learning solutions that ensure mastery of learning objectives and learner retention
Attend workshops and webinars on various components of design, development, instruction, and facilitation
Minimum:
- BA/BS Degree in a relevant field plus 6 years of experience, or a MS degree plus 4 years of experience, or 10 years of overall experience without a college degree
- Experience working with major cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure is highly desirable.
- Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions and an understanding of telecommunications industry dynamics would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as an executive presence
High energy and drive
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a sales position or sales engineering a plus
- Familiar with the various components of Instructional Design, the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, & Evaluation) and eLearning software (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Camtasia, etc.), and the evaluation process (Kirkpatrick method or such).
- Conducting skills gap analyses to identify areas of improvement.
- Designing training curricula within time and budget constraints
- Producing physical and digital educational material (e.g., videos and case studies)
- Dynamic public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to improvise and pivot direction in the classroom when necessary.
- Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Google G-Suite.
Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or priorities at once.
