The Training & Development Specialist works with business partners throughout the organization to plan, develop, write and facilitate a wide range of high-quality retail training and development programs for Team Members. This role is designed to partner with leadership teams to create a consistent training culture for all Fleet Farm stores.

Fleet Farm Store Support Center offers a hybrid work arrangement for most positions.

  • In collaboration with leadership and subject matter experts across the organization, assist in identifying needs, develop plans, and implement learning programs for retail Team Members.
  • Create and manage all training material to be used throughout the company using various forms and formats, including video/media, documents, and hands-on materials.
  • Administer the company’s learning management system.
  • Ensure learning plans for all retail positions are kept relevant and current through managing an annual training content review process with business leaders, partners, subject matter experts, key performers, etc.
  • Develop the style and tone of written materials as needed to align with branding requirements and targeted audiences.
  • Update, improve, and adjust training as necessary.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party training providers for content design, setup and delivery.
  • Assess training effectiveness and needs using surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and Team Members.
  • Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions with Store HR and Training Managers to ensure effective delivery to the end learner.
  • Assists Director in developing training budget and strategies.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships and partnerships throughout the organization.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of technical writing experience planning learning strategy, developing curriculum, and evaluating results is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, instructional design, organizational development, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum three years of retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to deliver, project, and motivate trainees using effective learning methodologies.
  • Proficiency with eLearning, LMS, authoring and graphic design software. Preferred experience in Docebo LMS, and Photoshop.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to build trust relationships through interpersonal skills and follow through on commitments.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills as well as the ability to learn new applications and programs quickly.
