The Senior Manager, Learning Design’s key responsibility is to design training. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to discern exactly what needs to be taught to reach learning outcomes as well as the best methods for delivering that content. This role can take ideas, organize them into an end-to-end learning strategy, and then skillfully collaborate with creative teams, technology gurus, and curriculum strategists to bring their vision to life.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work with subject matter experts to identify realistic and compelling learning outcomes, application, and measure behavior change.
- Coach and support subject matter experts in selection and translation of content to effectively tell their story.
- Determine learning methodology through careful learner and subject analysis (staying within the constraints of available resources)
- Create best-in-class content through engaging learning activities and compelling curriculum content, lessons, and tasks that embed technology to enhance content and deeper learning.
- Develop knowledge check activities, edit video content and draft communication in partnership with cross-functional business partners.
- Manage all aspects of projects including Subject Matter Expert (SME) involvement, timelines, reviews, budgets, communication.
- Build design documents using tried-and-true instructional design and learning theories and methods.
- Serve as project lead for development of new content and programs.
- Contribute to the writing, editing, and creative development of current and new content.
- Develop and grow relationships with SMEs, facilitators, and leaders for mutual guidance and feedback. Maintain a deep understanding of Panera Leaners.
- Cultivate and maintain a deep understanding of Panera employees’ roles and values and culture.
- Facilitate new training for test groups and rollout. Provide final review of completed project for SME approval and sign off.
- Provide subject matter expertise to create training programs including classroom, interactive, and web-based course production. Recommend strategies to improve instructional effectiveness.
- Develop professional, collaborative partnerships with members of cross-functional teams to determine and build appropriate training solutions, materials, and media.

Qualifications (Education & Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design or related field.
- 5-7 years’ experience in Instructional Design designing blended learning solutions with expertise in designing instructor led and eLearning courses.
- Expertise in Articulate Storyline 360 and Rise
- Expertise in InDesign
- Skilled in Photoshop and Illustrator
- Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Able to understand business and training needs and translate them into creative and engaging training solutions.
- Ability to work individually with project leads to design and develop appropriate learning content with minimal supervision.
- Well versed in current industry training standards and practices, research and learning theory. Thorough knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
- Attention to detail in producing, writing and proofing all coursework materials to ensure consistency in form, format, and function.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong consultative and collaboration skills.
- Must provide a portfolio of work and employment references available for review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in graphic design
- Experience with Attensi or other gamification platforms
- Experience in creating videos using video editing software
- Experience using Learning Management Systems.
- 3-5 years of learning & development experience in a corporate setting. Food service and manufacturing environments preferred.
Working Conditions:
- This is a remote role. Occasional overnight travel necessary when attending team and/or corporate events and meetings, and pilot rollouts.

- While performing this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, & use hands and fingers to operate keyboards
