Job Summary
The Sr. Learning Systems & Design Specialist (LSDS) serves as senior level instructional designer and change agent who designs innovative learning and performance improvement solutions and/or strategies that assist in closing performance gaps. The LSDS provides expertise with complex technical systems, industry-standard tools, process analysis, and performance interventions to deliver transformational training and education that develops the skills and knowledge of staff.
In addition, the LSDS is the primary administrator of all training deployed in the learning management system. The LSDS may perform in a consultative role to assist in examining the specific causes leading to poor performance, analyze how to overcome them by studying how a learner operates in a specific setting, which skills are needed to be successful in reaching business goals, and which strategies will enable them to succeed. The LSDS applies advanced understanding of the Instructional System Design Model, ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation), adult learning theory, and systems design principles to project-related work. The LSDS upholds high standards of integrity and ethical behavior, mentors others, models professionalism, and participates in activities that enhance professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Education, Computer Science, Instructional Technology, or related area
Masters degree in Business Management, Education, Instructional Technology, or related area preferred.
Work Experience:
Seven (7) years of experience in Instructional design, training/learning with strong curriculum development; Developing eLearning, web-based programs using Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate software
Three (3) years of experience in Learning management system administration/implementation preferred
Management Experience: Five (5) years management experience and/or project management experience
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact), Writing /Correspondence, Writing /Reports
Proficiencies: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Personal Computer
