What you will do:
Stryker is looking for a creative Sr. Instructional Designer to join our dynamic team. You will be developing instructional eLearn modules (CBTs) and training content for face to face or online classroom environments. This progressive learning group utilizes micro-learning strategies as well as short informative videos as part of their design solution to support our field employees, as well as the technical and the clinical staff of the customer. You will collaborate with the Vocera Product Education team, and experts from the engineering and product management teams as they work through the ADDIE framework to provide content to support each software release update for the Vocera Communication products.
Responsibilities
- You will develop instructional design strategies and implement technology initiatives utilizing Articulate Rise, Articulate 360, and Camtasia
- Consult with software engineering and Vocera Product Education colleagues on the design strategies and implement learning initiatives for internal and external customers
- Update current eLearn modules (CBTs) to be Section 508 compliant and meet Web Content Accessible Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) Edit recorded WebEx training sessions to be used as modules and put in the LMS
- You will build video tutorials and troubleshoot Healthstream and Customer LMS issues with our modules
- Design and craft entry level to advanced level courseware and instructional material for on-demand training
- You will provide instructional design consultation, technology application consultation, and instructional asset development for online and blended learning experiences
- Build new online courses and technical certification exams using writing, graphic design, branding, image editing, document formatting, animation, video, audio, e-learning authoring, web, and portal skills and tools
- You will participate in the need’s assessment, design and development of product and role specific curriculum road maps
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in planning and scoping requirements for curriculum
- Review and test new and revised curriculum offerings from other team members, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement; contributes to new curriculum or program ideas
Competencies
- You will have strong knowledge of Articulate Storyline Authoring Tool
- Demonstrated application of the ADDIE Methodology with Advanced understanding of 508 compliance and Web Content Accessible Guidelines (WCAG2.0) Compliance Knowledge
- Use your strong project management background and demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines, problem solve and commit to results
- Deep understanding of learning management systems and demonstrated strong cross group collaboration skills
- Utilize your negotiation skills to lead and negotiate trade-offs that are in the best interest of our workstream and customers
- Meaningful experience in industry standard learning technologies and tools, such as LMS and CMS platforms, project management tools, eLearning authoring tools, digital graphics media, audio and video production tools
- You should have extraordinary writing skills with the ability to convert technical or complex information and concepts into easily used and understandable text and illustrations
- Expertise with teaching technologies including presentation technologies and web-based learning and training
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Education, Computer Technology or related field, Master’s preferred
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Articulate required
- 8+ years’ experience crafting, developing and implementing interactive e-learning programs/courseware, performance measurement in a software environment or corporate setting
- Extensive experience developing and redesigning face-to-face, online, and blended courses using sound principles of instructional design
- Hands on experience delivering training to a variety of audiences (end-users, “train the trainers”, etc.)
- Experience in using SCORM compliant software packages across different Learning Management Solution platforms
- Strong ability to transform raw content and data from multi-functional teammates into interactive eLearning content with full narrative and illustrations
- <10% travel may be required
