The Senior Learning Design Professional uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Senior Learning Design Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
The Senior Learning Design Professional analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning and manuals. Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content. Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness. Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs. Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner’s satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.
Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators. Knows how to use social media and collaborative tools to facilitate learning. Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs. Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
If you are located within a 50-mile radius of the Louisville Waterside Humana office (101 E. Main Street, Louisville, KY 40202) this role will resume as a hybrid of remote and in-office work once CDC restrictions have lifted.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Education, Communications or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience developing curriculum content
- Minimum 4 years of experience with eLearning programs and virtual learning solutions
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a consumer facing role within a business
- Proficiency in Adobe Captivate 8.0 (and above), Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Audition, Camtasia, and/or any related design tool
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong knowledge of eLearning standards and Adult Learning Theory
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Work at Home/Remote Requirements
- Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings
- Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a workspace (Satellite and Hotspots are prohibited). A minimum standard speed of 25×10 (25mbps download x 10mbps upload) for optimal performance of is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education or related field
- Proficiency designing virtual Instructor-Led training using Zoom
- Proficient project management skills
- 5+ years in contact center learning and development for Fortune top 50 organization
- Experience developing and managing courses in a LMS
- 3+ years of facilitation experience with adult learners
- Experience designing learning solutions for new software implementations
