The Senior Learning Consultant-Instructional Design collaborates and consults with key stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SME), and Learning and Development (L&D) management on the design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning strategies and projects. They consult with the business to determine the performance gaps and to identify the best learning strategy to meet business needs and objectives. They apply sound instructional design techniques and adult learning principles to create engaging and effective instructor-led training, virtual training, and supporting materials. They apply knowledge of technology to design and develop online courses. They use established evaluation techniques to measure the effectiveness of learning activities. They also execute work plans, providing intermediate progress, and exception reports to managers and project leaders.
What you will do here:
Create new and update courses, in-classroom, virtual, and eLearning, to include the hard copy or electronic materials (facilitator guides, participant workbooks, exams, and other resources.) to meet organizational performance and business needs and to promote learning transfer. Create and follow project plans in alignment with established learning project workflows and meet established project deadlines.
Consult with the business to determine performance gaps and opportunities and make recommendations aligned with training and development philosophies and standards to support business goals and objectives. Interview SMEs and use available resources to identify and gather information for course content.
. Collaborate with peers, project team members, and others to develop performance objectives and content based on subject matter and training strategy. Ensure performance objectives are defined for each training program, assessments are designed to measure against defined objectives, and objective contributes to the organization’s strategic goals.
Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions for Delivery team and attend pilot and post-pilot classes to monitor course effectiveness and ensure learning transfer.
Maintain up-to- date knowledge of learning technologies and best practice by attending webinars, completing self-study activities and self-guided research, etc. Input course information, tools and associated documents in our learning management system (LMS). Perform necessary administrative learning management system (LMS) duties in support of course enrollment, learning activity assignments, and eLearning courses. What you will need:
Master’s Degree in Adult Education or Educational Technology (Instructional Design) preferred; or Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Learning, Education or related field required.
7 + years experience in Instructional Design, Training required.
3+ years experience in Graphic Design required.
2+ years’ experience designing sales programs required.
2+ years Facilitation Experience required.
Expertise using eLearning Authoring Tools (Captivate, Storyline, Lectora, Articulate) required.
Expertise using eLearning Authoring Tools (Captivate, Storyline, Lectora, Articulate) required.
Audio Recording and Editing Tools required.
Microsoft SharePoint required.
Expertise using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
Instructional Design Certification preferred.
Training Specialist Certification preferred.
