Appen Learning, Development, & Inclusion is looking for a highly competent, detail-oriented Instructional Designer, who possesses a unique balance of technical depth, training knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. You will have the opportunity to shape and execute talent solutions across a breadth of domains from technical training to premier experiential leadership paths. This role requires excellent project management skills, strategic thinking and problem solving, and strong stakeholder management and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be organized with a strong bias for action and automation.

How You Will Lead
  • Consult with program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and learning objectives
  • Identify when training is not the solution, or the only solution, and obtain buy-in for a holistic approach to solving performance problems
  • Coach subject matter experts to author their own content for elements in a structured learning path with measurable objectives (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, audio and video content, activities, assessment tests, etc.)

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Learning Development, Instructional Design, Education, or equivalent practical experience
  • At least 10 years of corporate learning and development experience: Instructional Design/ Curriculum development for virtual, in person, eLearning, and program management
  • Strong organizational skills and project management
  • Tolerance and enthusiasm for working with ambiguity and change, and experience managing scope creep and re-negotiating with internal clients
  • Facilitation and Train-the-Trainer experience for courses and paths you create and lead

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field including Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  • 10+ years of corporate learning and development experience
  • Experience with video and elearning authoring tools such as Articulate suite
  • Portfolio management in Leadership Development, including scalable design, selection of vendors, validated assessments for a diverse learning population
  • Solid experience planning for and managing several large-scale, complex training projects and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to deliver quality training materials within deadlines; excellent relationship building, collaboration, consultation, and influencing skills
Exceptional Qualifications – Not necessary, but a PLUS
  • Experience with 360Learning
  • Experience with Learning Operations Management using Monday.com
  • Experience with Leadership Development
  • Experience mapping solutions to a competency framework and employee engagement survey results
  • Experience with Power BI for learning analytics
