The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Senior Instructional Designer for our downtown Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).
Starting base salary = $84,000 – $104,000 a year (commensurate with related experience).
The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the development, finalization and maintenance of educational content at ASHE, working in collaboration with the Senior Learning and Development Designer. These educational programs enable ASHE members to acquire knowledge and skills related to the areas of health care facility operations, regulatory compliance, planning, design, construction and certifications. This position collaborates with team members and subject matter experts on the development of a variety of educational programs in all learning modalities. The Senior Instructional Designer also collaborates with the product distribution team to get product into the marketplace. Experience working with Learning Management Systems, including the ability to upload and manage content, generate usage reports and provide user support, is key. The Senior Instructional Designer will also develop e-Learning programs using authoring tools including Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft products.

Minimum five years of experience with instructional design and development of adult education programs including, but not limited to, courses that are delivered virtually, in- person, online and on demand.
Advanced experience with learning technology including media design, authoring software and gamification experience or similar is required.
Advanced skills with Articulate Storyline and Rise, Adobe Creative Suite, and Adobe Captivate is required.
Prior experience working with Learning Management Systems, user support and program management.
Must present a portfolio of demonstrated work in education development and design.
