The Senior Instructional Designer role in GC&E combines the best aspects of a traditional instructional design role – i.e. the creativity, the joy of breaking complex concepts into easily digestible bite sized pieces for diverse audiences, the ownership of a varied portfolio of eLearning experiences for employees – with the fulfillment of seeing your projects come to life through the deployment cycle, and ultimately collaborating with the team to measure the effectiveness of what you created and its impact on Liberty’s ethical culture. Ideally, you are detail-oriented, highly collaborative with a continuous improvement mindset, and able to tailor your communication style to different audiences.
*The salary for this position will depend on geographic location and can be a fully remote position with possible travel once a quarter*
Responsibilities:
  • Conducts in-depth job-task analysis and/or needs assessment to identify learning objectives, and to determine education and other performance enhancement solutions (e.g., management reinforcement, rewards, role clarity, job aids, etc.).
  • Works with vendor and subject matter experts to storyboard, draft and develop compliance and ethics training curriculum for 50,000+ employees and contractors across the organization.
  • Applies knowledge of sound instructional design to design course content, working with subject matter experts, management, trainers and e-Learning specialists and/or external vendors to design training curricula and solutions, considered complex in nature. Creates new training programs from scratch, working independently, starting with conducting a formal analysis of training needs.
  • Applies knowledge of adult learning theory to identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, course content, audience location and point within the learning process.
  • Designs evaluation strategies and tools to measure program effectiveness, and to determine whether desired learning and performance outcomes are achieved. Assists in developing valid criterion-referenced tests.
  • Reviews program evaluations, test results, and participant and manager feedback on compliance and ethics training effectiveness to make recommendations for program improvement.
  • Consults on the development and design of creative and interactive compliance and ethics communications, including video, animations, posters, interactive graphics, etc. to ensure messaging and design are consistent with training materials.
  • Partners with colleagues to organize and manage the delivery of global compliance training courses using the Learning Management System (LMS), including course setup, deploying training to large audiences, managing custom e-mails, etc. Monitors and tracks employee training activities. Makes recommendations on how to best leverage the LMS for compliance training initiatives.
  • Identifies needs for outside resources, and sources vendors, as appropriate. Handles vendor management, to include coordination of resources and ensuring quality of product and service levels delivered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in addition to 4+ years of training design experience.
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience includes working with moderately complex content and designing training for multiple delivery modalities (traditional classroom, online classroom, and self-paced e-Learning modules).
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills.
  • Has broad knowledge of instructional technologies and is proficient in the advanced use of e-Learning tools that do not require programming.
