This position is responsible for developing creative learning and development solutions leveraging their expertise in collaboration with other business line partners; will deliver learning initiatives to meet our strategic objectives. Works as an internal consultant to design, develop, facilitate and/or coordinate delivery of our learning events, resources, and programs.

This position will include certain assigned responsibilities for one or more of the Focus Areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes current situation and/or future needs through surveys, interviews, or focus groups, to determine gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions to overcome the gap.
  • Utilizes project management and change management skills to ensure efficient and effective execution of the solution.
  • Selects the appropriate delivery method (eLearning modules, virtual or in-person instructor led training, purchased solutions, or a combination of these) based on needs identified.
  • Creates resources, independent or partner activities, or group activities to prepare for, or reinforce, concepts covered in eLearning modules or training classes.
  • Facilitates instructor-led training and related support activities or coordinates facilitation through skilled business line partners.
  • Promotes learning opportunities available to employees and provides guidance to managers and employees on selecting opportunities that match their interests and needs.
  • Evaluates and reports the effectiveness of training and resources created, identifies opportunities to improve effectiveness based on feedback, and reviews content on at least an annual basis to ensure it is meeting current needs.
  • Stays abreast of changes and trends in the banking industry as well as learning and development industry to ensure effectiveness of recommendations.
  • May be called upon to lead or work on special projects such as those related to the Strategic Plan or mergers/acquisitions.
  • Represents MidWestOne in community volunteer committees/boards and participates in LD peer groups or other related professional organizations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of post high school education and related work experience.
  • In addition to education in the field of business, prefer 3+ years of experience with learning theory, design, and facilitation specifically for supervisory development.
  • Experience in Emotional Intelligence, project management, and change management is also preferred.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Teams, Zoom, and LMS platforms or other learning technologies is required.
  • Banking or financial experience is preferred.
