We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager (L&D Manager). The L&D Manager will play a valuable role on the Club Fitness leadership team and will be key in building the skills and capabilities of our employees and leaders. This person will provide thought leadership and identify solutions and deliverables to build upon the range of formal learning experiences, development opportunities, and competency development. In addition, the L&D Manager oversees the effective utilization and accurate record keeping within the Club Fitness LMS system.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior leadership to understand Club fitness vision, mission, and values, as well as critical success factors that drive short/long-term business goals.
  • Perform ongoing employee training needs assessments and align training outcomes to achieve organization’s strategic goals.
  • Assess and recommend effective leadership coaching opportunities to strengthen our philosophy of Coach the Coach.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop new employee training strategies that create a culture of learning for new hires and deliver industry leading member experiences/customer service.
  • Design new employee training to enable the CF promise of Clean, Functional and Friendly.
  • Evaluate and enhance leadership curriculum designed to support continuous learning of CF leadership competencies, beginning with first time managers, new managers to CF and seasoned leaders who seek additional growth opportunities.
  • Apply adult learning theories and instructional design strategies to design dynamic and compelling content that engages the learner and inspires outstanding performance.
  • Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  • Assess program results. Make recommendations for and incorporate improvements to ensure achievement of learning objectives.
  • Teach training methods and skills to instructors and supervisors (train the trainer).
  • Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
  • Build and maintain internal network of subject matter experts (SMEs) to effectively identify key business challenges and develop appropriate approaches to improve learning effectiveness, support key roles and address business needs.
  • Build rapport, develop relationships, and establish trust to influence leaders and employees.
  • Create and manage a learning and development budget.
  • Design and develop learning activities and training materials in a variety of delivery channels, including but not limited to instructor led courses, eLearning modules, job aids and multimedia.
  • Develop and formalize processes to gather learning data, analyze and communicate training effectiveness and impact.
  • Drive solutions that focus on increasing competencies, capabilities, and proficiency in field specific roles.
  • Enhance the learner experience by looking for new ways to integrate learning into the flow of work, increase learning consumption and satisfy learning needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and instructors.
  • Monitor and analyze learning and development trends; report on such trends and make recommendations.
  • Develop an engaging virtual orientation through games, meet & greets and activities for new Club Fitness employees using video conferencing system.
  • Develop and implement of companywide virtual initiatives, such as blended learning models and innovative online learning programs to increase learning opportunities.
  • Research and test various learning technologies and solutions to improve learning engagement, retention, and behavior change.
  • Review and select training materials from a variety of vendors as needed.
  • Update training programs to ensure they remain relevant.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience working in a Learning and Development, Training, or related role required.
  • Able to design and produce relevant training materials including e-learning courses.
  • Ability to increase the knowledge level of class participants through creative, effective, and engaging course delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, organizational development, education, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of administering a learning management system.
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strong business acumen and decision-making skills.
  • Design and development of instructional materials in a variety of media required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail in grammar and punctuation, visual design and layout and effective presentation required.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service and team interaction skills.
  • Experience demonstrating the effectiveness of learning solutions through measurement, analysis and reporting required.
  • Extensive experience developing training and business solutions from the ground up (including but not limited to research, solution analysis, selection, development and implementation) in a business environment required.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, learning theories, instructional methodologies, and current training and development industry trends.
  • Self-directed work style with excellent time management and project management skills, including the ability to meet fixed deadlines.
  • Technical aptitude and demonstrated experience leveraging learning technologies and tools that integrate with and support learning activities (such as LMS and online developmental tools) required
