    About the Position:
    The Learning and Development Manager serves as the primary leader in onboarding of Practice Managers, fostering a positive adult learning environment to provide our new Practice Managers with an unparalleled learning experience. They are responsible for developing and administering Learning courses to further Practice Manager knowledge, oversee and coordinate the Learning of staff members, and assessing and reporting progress through the Practice Manager and Level Up Programs.
    The Learning and Development Manager works closely with the Director of Learning and Development and Expansion Manager to update Learning leveraging adult learning principles to drive Practice Manager knowledge and provide them with the necessary tools and skills to be successful.


    Key Responsibilities

    The job tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Develops relevant Learning content and activities to train Practice Managers
    • Upholds the American Veterinary Group mission of “Pet First Client First” through Learning programs that keep that focus throughout the course
    • Reports progress of Practice Managers and staff through their training courses
    • Updates Learning courses as needed with collaboration from Expansion Manager and Director of Learning and Development
    • Conducts gap analysis as necessary to determine future training needs
    • Develops ILT and eLearning training courses that augment learning impact
    • Manages LMS, including troubleshooting logins when necessary
    • Ensures consistency and integrity of the Level Up Program
    • Supplements facilitation of the Practice Manager Training Program as needed and time allows
    • Drives development of staff through career pathing, coaching, and development conversations for high potential managers
    • Facilitates monthly Learnings at the hospital level to increase employee engagemen
    • Builds facilitation kits for Ambassadors, Regional Directors and Practice Managers for satellite Learning sessions

     

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, 5-8 years in a corporate training environment
      Master’s Degree preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • A commitment to the highest quality of adult education
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire others
      The ability to analyze complex information and break the information into easily digestible chunks
    • The ability to work with, lead, and motivate people of various personality types
      Strong time management skills
    • Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
    • SmartSheets experience is preferred
    • Experience managing and leveraging an LMS to deploy training is required
    • Advanced knowledge of instructional design and the tools needed to complete eLearning Learnings required, Articulate Storyline experience preferred
    • A proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • An ability to build engaging and professional ILT and eLearning content
    • A positive, can-do attitude; strong people skills/emotional intelligence; excellent analytical skills; willingness to roll up your sleeves and chip in to help the team.
