    Position Description

    This is a remote, home-based position. Candidates from all US geographies will be considered.

    JOB SUMMARY
    This position leads and drives development of a critical patient navigation training and certification program designed to be revenue producing, drives its execution in a tight timeframe with high level visibility to ACS C-suite, external stakeholders and senior leaders, and ensures delivering on results.

    Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing enriching learning experiences for new audience of patient navigators to ensure compliance with new government regulation going into effect in 2024. This position will evaluate the results of learning programs and determine and execute appropriate action to ensure materials are high quality and meet learning outcomes, follow adult learning principles, current industry trends and best practices. They will partner as needed with members of the ET, Patient support SLT, external and internal subject matter experts, and leaders in the field of patient navigation, and other stakeholders to drive decisions that ensure high quality learning programs meet business objectives including new revenue and drive our mission, vision, and values.
     

    This position will participate as an integrated member of the patient support navigation team and may lead or contribute to other navigation activities as part of ACS’ comprehensive strategy, serving as one of the ACS leads for patient navigation efforts and as a resource to other ACS departments including Discovery, Advocacy, Digital Solutions, Legal, Strategy & Finance, Development and DEI among others, to ensure appropriate integration of activities. The selected individual will represent ACS externally through collaborative initiatives and demonstrate ACS’ health equity principles in all work.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

     

    Content Development:

    • Leverage expertise to create and deliver content and learning programs to foster development of competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities to support patient navigation.
    • Determines content for multimillion dollar revenue producing opportunity.
    • Identifies and contracts with subject matter experts to create and/or review content so that program participants can achieve high level certification.
    • Quickly synthesize and write learning content based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, and interviews.
    • Consults with stakeholders to identify learning needs and design learning experiences that align to organizational goals to match identified needs.
    • Regularly review existing learning content to maintain relevance, accuracy, and remain responsive to developing trends and industry best practices.

     

    Training development:

    • Creates and directs the creation of online self-paced learning modules, virtual and in person instructor-led training, and supporting learner and facilitator materials following instructional design best practices.
    • Apply a working knowledge of adult learning theory.
    • Designs, implements appropriate reinforcement tools, and resources that enhances retention and aid in learning transfer including manager discussion guides and toolkits.
    • Supports learner technical assistance.

     

    Assessment development:

    • Develops module knowledge check questions and curriculum assessment questions that align with learning objectives and allow the learner to demonstrate knowledge and competency

     

    Learning Management System:

    • Directs the uploading of content to the Learning Management System and supports internal knowledge management through use of shared drives and systems.
    • Optimizes the utilization of the Learning Management System by understanding the full functionality and capability of the system, including learner management and reporting tools.

     

    Evaluation:

    • Develops and implements a long-term evaluation plan focused on process, outcome, and impact.
    • Develops data collection instruments such as survey questionnaires and interview and observation protocols to measure the implementation and outcomes of educational programs.
    • Leads efforts to gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and disseminate findings to various internal and external audiences, in written and presentation formats, as necessary.
    • Uses appropriate methodological techniques for analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
    • Drives qualitative data collection, including focus group or key informant interview moderation, as necessary.
    • Conducts Research support including IRB protocol development, submission and management; abstract submission.
    • Creates processes and procedures to grow continued efficiencies of the overall workflow.

     

    Training:

    • Facilitate Train-the-Trainer (T3) sessions for delivery by staff and volunteers.
    • Deliver best-in-class facilitation utilizing a full range of modalities including physical and virtual classroom, eLearning, and social and collaborative learning techniques.
    • Utilize effective training techniques for managing participants, engaging a variety of learning preferences, creating an effective positive learning environment, and managing challenges.

     

    Project management:

    • Provides project management, including curriculum and training development, and pilot implementation and evaluation.
    • Manages programmatic work of contractors and ensures deliverables are met in a timely manner.
    • Coordinate implementation of outgoing funding mechanisms (grants and consultant contracts) including contract and invoice management, award agreements, and program and financial reports.
    • Partners with Director, Finance, and Business Operations to develop sustainable budget forecasting and monitoring tools and processes for the program.
    • Perform miscellaneous navigation project-related duties as needed.


    Position Requirements

    FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

    • 7-10+ years of experience facilitating and developing adult learning programs
    • Master’s degree in social work, nursing, a health or social science, or related field
    • Experience in oncological setting preferred
    • Significant knowledge and experience with the principles and practices of patient navigation
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory, professional development, program design, instructional design, and evaluation methodology/practice.
    • Knowledge of certification and billing practices.
    • Knowledge of research methodology, statistics, and data processing.

     

    SKILLS

    • Demonstrates ACS Leadership Technology competency in learning design tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office 365 including MS Teams, Absorb, and Articulate 360 suite. Ability to learn and adopt new tools to maintain best in class position.
    • Proven knowledge and experience in adult learning, instructional and curriculum design, and learning evaluation.
    • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver training, staff support, and community presentations.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to set and meet deadlines and maintain schedules for deliverables related to multiple projects.
    • Ability to think strategically and execute plan to completion.
    • Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes in short time frames.
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret data and make data-driven programmatic decisions.
    • Advanced project management skills and the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a focused manner.

    OTHER

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • Travel required approximately 25% or less.
    • No or very limited physical effort required.
    • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.

    The starting rate is $85,000-90,000. The final candidate’s relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
