Madison College invites applicants to apply for the position of Learning and Development Coordinator. This position will support the College’s employee and organizational development initiatives. This role coordinates employee leadership development programs, Workday Learning Management System (LMS) functions, annual/assigned trainings, and curriculum development and training.
This role collaborates with team members, staff, faculty, and managers to deliver programs and events that build key organizational and leadership competencies. These initiatives include tools and experiences that drive employee individual development, professional and personal growth, retention, and career enhancement. This position develops programs and curricula to improve the knowledge and skills of Madison College’s employees, as well as improve business performance.
Overall, the characteristics and skillsets needed for this role include both technical skills and skills of interacting well with people, so the right candidate will be as comfortable working autonomously as they are working in teams. Critical thinking, creativity, patience, flexibility, energy, organization, passion, and technical acumen are some of the primary characteristics needed to be successful in this role.
This position reports to the Manager, Employee Learning & Organizational Development.

This is a full-time, exempt, 52 weeks per year position, working Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, and facilitate leadership development programs and trainings, including conducting on-going needs and gap analysis of program content, resources, and tools to ensure the achievement of learning objectives and performance goals. Maintain pool of trainers and serve as “train-the-trainer” in broad deployment strategies.
- Lead of Workday Learning LMS for the learning and development team, providing training and support for department and other college units. Coordinate tasks associated with new hire & annual trainings assignments. Collaborate with LMS core team on projects, testing, and maintenance.
- Design and develop new curriculum and initiatives designed to grow and develop people leaders. Collaborate and partner with the learning and development team/HR and Office of Equity & Inclusion in the decisions about types of curriculum needed. Evaluate the effectiveness of trainings for continuous improvement of content, structure, materials to ensure offerings are equitable and inclusive, and delivery of solutions.
- Deliver highly interactive, engaging, and impactful instructor-led and web-based/eLearning leadership development trainings. Topics include trainings for leadership and manager development programs, Interest-Based Problem Solving, and other relevant topics such as team development and soft skills trainings.
- Collaborate with learning & development team and HR, reviewing work and providing developmental feedback, in addition to identifying training needs, curriculum development, training delivery, assisting with scheduling appropriate training sessions, and performing LMS tasks.
- Develop and maintain learning accommodations process for learners, training criteria, and best practices for instructor-led and web-based/eLearning courses, including providing “train-the-trainer” developmental support and feedback to program trainers, and other college units for trainings (in-person, live online, classroom live, or on-demand), and for meetings or forums.
- Facilitate, assign, and track completion of employee compliance trainings, including collaborating with key leadership on communication plan.
- Apply knowledge of adult learning, instructional design techniques, leadership development program design, and evaluation methodologies.

- Virtual and in-person training experience.

- Creative and problem-solving skills to invent new ways to accommodate the learning needs of contemporary learners.
- High empathy skills and understanding of effective teaching methodologies and the willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in teaching.
- Skills in technology to enhance teaching and learning, whether in-person or online.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design, Business, or closely related field.
- Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required for the position.
- Five years (10,000 hours) of related work experience. Though not required, preference will be given to individuals that have experience with leadership development programming, LMS, and Articulate 360.
