    This temporary paid internship provides an opportunity to enhance Goodwill’s learning and development initiatives by creating, editing, and delivering engaging, impactful, and effective learning experiences. Assists with the development of learning courses using asynchronous methods. This role collaborates closely with the Director of Learning and Development and stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver high-quality learning programs that align with organizational goals. This position is responsible, and will be held accountable, for behaving in accordance with divisional and organizational RISE values and expectations.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Assists in the development of adult learning curricula for eLearning programs utilizing instructional design principles to craft learning experiences; recommends course revisions and ensures up-to-date maintenance of course materials.
    2. Reviews courses for content / design opportunities and/or gaps.
    3. Leverages content authoring tool to develop effective and engaging learning courses.
    4. Designs courses with consideration to best practices, learner needs, and aesthetic look and feel.
    5. Establishes course triggers to navigate through learning courses.
    6. Narrates courses with clear and professional audio.
    7. Publishes course files accurately for target system (LMS).

    Learning Outcomes:
    • Instructional Design Proficiency: Develop a strong understanding of instructional design principles and apply them to create engaging and effective eLearning content tailored to adult learners.
    • Curriculum Development: Gain experience in designing, developing, and updating adult learning curricula that meet organizational needs and standards.
    • eLearning Authoring Tools: Become proficient in using eLearning authoring tools to create interactive and engaging learning experiences.

    Supervisory Responsibility:
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:
    1. Currently enrolled in post-secondary education with interest in gaining experience and competency in learning and development.
    2. General familiarity with design principles and aesthetics to create informational and engaging learning products.
    3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and prepared to learn content authoring software (dominKnow).
    4. Ability to work independently and with a team.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Experience working with people with disadvantages and disabilities.
    2. Experience with content authoring or design platforms.
