    The Learning Designer is responsible for creating the detailed learning design in support of specific Learning & Development audiences. The designer combines a solid understanding of adult learning principles and training dynamics with the ability to synthesize content requirements and corporate resources into comprehensive learning design. The Learning Designer works with a wide range of stakeholders including SMEs, stakeholder partners, the audience learning team, and the Digital Learning team to create the detailed instructional design plan for effective and accurate learning content. They apply tested adult learning theories and partner with the Content Engineering team to ensure that the content is clear, appealing, and applicable, resulting in quality learning experiences. The Learning Designer stays current with learning trends and share resources and learning with others on the team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Determine and document the detailed design needs and required learning content for all learning modalities both current and future
    • Produce Detailed Design Document
    • Provide design expertise for learning solutions to key stakeholders
    • Partner with the Content Engineering team to translate detailed design specs into learning content and experiences appropriate for targeted audiences
    • Identify learning and performance objectives to meet the business and learner needs
    • Convert complex topics and simplify into digestible learning experiences that will support business objectives
    • Perform content audit to determine file impacts
    • Partner with the Measurement team to define evaluation strategies
    • Work closely with Learning & Development partners to continue to expand and influence a menu of learning modalities and capabilities to meet learner needs
    • Remain current with learning trends and learning design theories
    • Ensure content development strategy, design standards, and future roadmap planning efforts align with learning solution design

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5+ years in instructional design or equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of adult learning principles
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experience designing learning within multiple modalities (e.g., ILT, eLearning, video, job aids, etc.)
    • Ability to cultivate/build relationships and work collaboratively with internal partners and external vendors
    • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and quality-focused
    • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other related computer programs

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources, education, instructional design, or equivalent
      experience
    • Advanced degree in adult education, instructional technology, or equivalent experience and
      certification(s) (e.g., Designing Learning certificate or CPLP)
    • Strong project management experience
    • Experience engaging in design thinking practices
    • Experience with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
    • Experience with a variety of Learning Management and/or Learning Content Management systems and platforms
    • Experience with Adobe Creative products, including InDesign and other related programs
    • Experience with ADDIE, SAM, or other rapid design/prototype methodologies

    Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Travel Requirements: 10% Preferred Level of Education: Bachelors Degree
