The primary responsibility of this position is to design, develop, and deliver training programs on our University Advancement data and database. The Learning Designer and Instructor will serve as a project manager, overseeing the end-to-end implementation of training initiatives in collaboration with business Subject Matter Experts and leaders. Additionally, the role involves creating training materials, facilitating training sessions, maintaining relationships with leadership, and supporting the development and implementation of new training policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, project management experience, and a strong background in training and CRM systems. The instructor will have access to university resources such as Canvas Learning Management System as an option to help design, create and execute training programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a trainer or instructor.
- Strong knowledge and experience in CRM systems, with preference given to experience with Salesforce Ascend or training for a CRM conversion.
- Familiarity with University Advancement or related field is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage and effectively train individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop training programs, modules, and materials.
- Proficient in using a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate training effectiveness and make appropriate adjustments.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop comprehensive training plans and curriculum on University Advancement data use and CRM database. (70%)
- Develop training modules, courses, and materials, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and learner needs.
- Serve as a project manager for the implementation of training initiatives, taking ownership of the entire process
- Facilitate training sessions for groups or individuals using a variety of instructional techniques, including instructor-led training, eLearning, simulations, hands-on activities, lectures, group discussions, case studies, and assignments
- Conduct evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements
- Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised training policies, practices, and procedures as needed
- Communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all levels.
Assist the Sr Associate Director of Data Strategy & Analytics to build and maintain business process documentation and policy and procedure documentations for areas throughout Advancement Resources (20%)
- Maintain a strong understanding of CRM database, data, and business rules of the data to provide visual business process documentation, written policies, and procedures
- Independent work skills to take initiative in project management and organization
- Strong written skills and skill set using Lucid Chart or another business process flow chart tool
Other duties assigned and support of the Data Strategy team (10%)
- Basic level reporting skills
- Data cleansing and data quality maintenance
- Support of projects across Advancement Resources and Advancement Technology
- Maintain and enhance relationships with leadership to understand staff skillset requirements, including accommodating special requests from management
