Position Summary: Leads and mentors learning and development professionals and collaborate with sponsors and subject matter experts to create world class learning experiences and quality curriculum for a variety of users at all levels of the organization. Leverages technology and the organization’s digital learning platforms to deliver engaging and effective content that prepares key stakeholders to deliver on business goals. Synthesizes complex information and presenting in a way that is tangible, memorable and effective.
Acquires and maintains subject matter expertise with a deep understanding of audience needs to tailor content and provide training in the most effective medium for each audience. Creates unique experiences for learning that will bring our work and culture to life. Oversees the day-to-day management of the Learning Management System and all multi-channel learning tools and platforms. Responsible for marketing learning programs through the appropriate avenues which may include newsletters, social media, email, and texts for learners. Establishes value- based metrics for all programming and measures impact of learning experiences.

Education Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related discipline. Human Resources and/or learning and development certifications preferred., or related area; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Experience Requirements: Five or more years of progressive advanced experience in designing, developing, facilitating, and managing learning experiences. Experience leading diverse cross-functional teams to support company initiatives. Proven history of learning industry credibility with up-to-date knowledge of best practices in Human Performance Technology and instructional design.

Essential Job Functions
1. Leads and develops a high-performance team of instructional designers.
2. Collaborates and partners with a team of learning experts that translate business needs into impactful learning experiences across a broad range of synchronous, asynchronous, and blended delivery methods.
3. Advises and acts as a trusted performance consultant on effective and leading-edge learning strategies.
4. Leads with an unwavering in commitment to our Field First ways of working, ensuring that learning experiences always meet Field needs.
5. Practices Learning and Development at scale by thinking nationally and applying sustainable principles & practices.
6. Leads with a learner-centric approach with consumable, relevant training at the time a learner requires it (not too much, too little, too early, or too late).
7. Leverages learning technologies and builds the team needed to develop, manage, deliver, and track training (eLearning, Video, Podcasts, Micro-Learning, Virtual learning, Instructor Led training, etc.).
8. Crafts compelling, highly visible learning experiences using instructional design and design thinking principles (i.e., facilitating needs assessments and skills gap analysis; prototyping, developing, and testing learner-centered eLearning, blended learning experiences, and learning materials in a variety of delivery modalities).
9. Manages process and projects managing between big-picture planning and managing relevant detail, capacity to manage multiple projects, prioritizes and plans resources accordingly, and clearly communicates.
10. Researches, identifies, selects, and manages partnerships with vendors to support our learning strategy execution.
11. Meets our learners where they are and promotes diversity and inclusion by overseeing the translation of learning materials and leading practices on accessibility.

  • Knowledge of instructional theories, adult learning, on-the-job learning, virtual and classroom instruction, and training metrics/effectiveness.
  • Collaboration skills, leading teams and working with individuals across the company in various roles.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt and lead teams through change.
  • Effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Experience with an LMS, e-learning tools/development platforms, and course authoring/graphics tools.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
