    We are seeking a highly motivated Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning solutions that align with our organization’s learning objectives. This role requires a creative mindset, strong instructional design skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to deliver effective learning experiences.

    By creating learning experiences, this role will help both our clinical and non-clinical staff successfully engage with patients to deliver services in a person-centered manner and according to the policies and procedures of the Agency in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and standards.

    Cherry Health, Michigan’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), operates in six counties across the state, is based in Grand Rapids. With a team of more than 800 health care professionals at 20 locations, Cherry Health focuses on removing barriers, expanding access, and delivering comprehensive quality health care services to underserved communities, regardless of an individual’s insurance status or ability to pay. We provide primary care, dental, vision, behavioral health, pharmacy services, substance abuse services, school based health centers and more. This is a full time – 40 hr per week- benefit eligible position.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field;
    • Proven experience (3-5 years) in designing and developing learning content in multiple formats (instructor-led, eLearning, on-the-job training, etc.) using various authoring tools and learning management systems.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to analyze learning needs and develop learning strategies that align with business objectives.
    • Design and develop interactive, engaging, and impactful eLearning courses, modules, and materials using various authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, etc.).
    • Facilitate meaningful instructor-led courses when deemed appropriate.
    • Employ instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and best practices to create effective learning content that caters to diverse learning styles and needs.
    • Utilize multimedia elements, such as audio, video, simulations, and graphics, to enhance the effectiveness of eLearning materials.
    • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to established standards in all learning deliverables.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through assessments, feedback, and analytics; make data-driven improvements for continuous enhancement.
    • Stay updated on emerging learning technologies, trends, and best practices to drive innovation and improve learning experiences.
    • Upload and text any digital content within the learning management system.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and eLearning development methodologies.
    • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as the Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar software.
    • Experience in multimedia development and integration, including graphics, audio, video, and simulations.
    • Analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and utilize data for continuous improvement.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience within the education, healthcare, or non-profit sector preferred.
    • Experience with learning management systems administration and course deployment.
    • Familiarity with graphic design principles and tools.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, project management planning, and time-management skills, ensuring quality and consistent output while managing facets of multiple projects.
    • Team-oriented and self-directed, able to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision in a hybrid working environment.
    • Creative thinking and problem solving.
    • Ability to occasionally travel to any Cherry Health site and related locations.
