The Manager, Learning & Development supports the VP of Talent & Development and is accountable for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of learning and development initiatives. You will work closely with leaders at FGF and collaborate with others to analyze learning needs and support career development initiatives for our team members.
Responsibilities
- Provide program management expertise to special projects and key risk areas.
- Consult with Group Leaders, T&D Business Partners, and Team Leaders to identify learning gaps and recommend customized learning solutions that engage and enhance skill and behavioral development
- Design, develop, implement and evaluate recommended and approved learning programs
- Design, develop and implement a Learning Needs Analysis as required to ensure relevant training delivery to the organization
- Provide recommendations for improvement and success of learning and development programs and initiatives for continuous improvement
- Support strategy for Leadership Development that will ensure that FGF has the necessary leadership talent aligned to its vision that will support the achievement of our purpose and strategy
- Actively manage team member expectations by managing mid and end of program performance evaluations, provide recommendations on exit strategies when necessary
- Identifies and recommends external training partners who are experts in their subject matter; Pre-screen the training vendors to identify those that will fit with our culture; Recommend shortlisted training partners/vendors for final selection and maintain ongoing relationship with training partners and be responsible for end to end vendor management
- Coach, mentor, lead the Learning & Development team at FGF
- Provides delivery support (including, but not limited to: job aids, instructor-led training, learning activities, e-learning content, tools, reference guides, participant guides, facilitator guides, etc.)
- Lead end to end implementation of both in-person and digital learning programs
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of the digital learning system to ensure user experience is optimal and enable talent metrics and analytics to drive fact-based learning decisions
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education, (or relevant combination of education and experience) in Adult Education or Training and Development, eLearning
- Minimum of 5+ years of increasing responsibility in a Learning & Development role
- CTDP certification is an asset
- Experience with digital learning/LMS and e-learning modules an asset
- Detail oriented and highly organized and able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent organization and follow-up skills to coordinate program efforts
- Strong time management skills with great attention to detail and analytical skills with a high degree of professionalism
- Excellent project management skills
- Proven experience with facilitation and delivery of training programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Survey Monkey, Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, and other training tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of the latest learning trends
