THE ROLE
The Director, Learning & Development role contributes to Live Nation Entertainment’s success by acting as a strategic human resources expert implementing and sustaining foundational pillars for developing and engaging our employees.
The role will work as a Player/Coach , “rolling up their sleeves” to deliver high-quality employee programs at all levels across multiple businesses, while also leading a team of learning professionals – overseeing their execution on LNE’s learning plans, training workshops, career development & onboarding programs, and employee surveys, in addition to other ad-hoc projects.
This individual will work across all domestic and international business units and leverage relationships with divisional HR teams to support the build and deployment of key employee initiatives to meet business needs.
This role reports to the VP, People Operations & Programs, and will be located in our Beverly Hills office.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
- Co-creates and executes on an enterprise learning & development strategy – leading multiple projects to enhance the employee experience and opportunities for our people
- Partners with HR and business leaders to improve people management efforts and roll out new employee-centered programs within their divisions (i.e. onboarding best practices, training delivery, performance reviews, and succession planning, etc.)
- Establishes plans, systems, and communication strategies to support and implement key priorities for initiatives such as leadership development, high-touch career development programs, recognition programs, etc.
- Takes the lead consulting on employee engagement survey analysis, results communication, and action planning initiatives relevant to the job scope
- Ensures the delivery of employee onboarding programs and processes across the business are continually improving
- Consults with leadership at all levels regarding recommended employee development tactics, serves as a resource on best practices and external resource referral
- Builds and facilitates in-person workshops, applying adult learning theories to design and delivery
- Works hand-in-hand with the People Operations team in how our Learning Management System should be leveraged as it relates both enterprise learning plans, eLearning needs, and aligning to divisional business goals
- Identifies qualified external consultants as needed, monitoring and managing their work (such as content providers, employee survey vendors, executive coaching, etc.)
- Works closely with Diversity team to integrate the D&I strategy and metrics into learning and development programs and initiatives
- Manages employee development program budgets and annual forecasting
- Takes the lead on ad-hoc special projects as they relate to the employee-centric programs
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience building talent initiatives and development programs
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree in a related field preferred
- 3+ years’ experience as a people manager
- Advanced knowledge of leadership development/management training needs with an ability to apply modern adult learning theories to employee programs
- Excellent training and visual presentation design skills
- The ability to independently and/or lead a team to design, build, and deliver cohesive training content that’s modern and applicable to the intended audience
- Experienced as a training facilitator, having a track record of impactful and effective program delivery to various business audiences
- Experienced in implementing and analyzing employee surveys
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and work in a fast-paced, ever-changing culture
- Holds a passion for staying current in modern learning and development practices to support employees at scale with a service mindset
- Strong client service skills and ability to execute in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Must be a strong team player, a strong mentor, and possess strong influencing skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and verbal presentation skills
- Ability to work closely with others successfully as part of a highly decentralized organization
- Ability to build positive working relationships with a diverse group of people both internal and external to the HR team
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid role (going into our Beverly Hills office approximately 2-3 days per week)
- A great attitude with the ability to work hard and have fun!
- Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel knowledge
- eLearning software creation knowledge (ex: Articulate, Captivate) preferred
- Adobe Creative Suite skills a plus
