    Do you want to develop training that will transform military training? As an instructional designer, you know that even the best tools and processes can’t have an impact without the right education. Constructing a learning system that supports performance requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an instructional designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges in Soldier readiness by crafting effective training.

    On our team, you’ll work with client stakeholders, subject matter experts, instructors, and product designers to capture your customer’s training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their goals. Putting the learner at the center of the learning experience, you’ll design scalable training support packages for virtual and face-to-face training audiences, to include synchronous, asynchronous material, and performance support tools. You’ll build training material with multimedia specialists, graphic artists, and instructors, following the ADDIE model.

    You’ll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen or in a classroom. You’ll recommend cutting-edge multimedia technologies and strategies, including blended learning, gamification, and simulations, to build a successful learning environment. You know communication is key, so you’ll meet with stakeholders throughout the process to discuss learning material and incorporate feedback. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you’ll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You’ll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customer’s learning needs. This is a chance to use your deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students.

    You Have:

    • 3+ years of experience with designing training and learning products in a corporate and military setting for adult learners
    • Experience with the ADDIE Instructional Design model
    • Experience with leading a technology-based learning project
    • Ability to communicate effectively with SMEs, technologists, and designers
    • Ability to storyboard or script highly interactive and impactful web- and mobile-based training
    • Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 15% of the time
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Technology

    Nice if You Have:

    • Experience with curating learning resources to align with competencies
    • Experience with building and maintaining client relationships
    • Experience with leveraging instructional technology, including mobile learning solutions and virtual or augmented reality to meet performance outcomes
    • Ability to design instructional content for eLearning delivery using SCORM and Section 508 accessibility compliances
    • Ability to relate well with client and contract personnel
    • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
    • Secret clearance
    • Master’s Degree in Instructional Design or Technology

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
