JOB OVERVIEW
The Instructional Designer II is responsible for partnering with Net Heath colleagues, end users, and leaders across the organization to identify, recommend, design, develop and implement appropriate learning solutions that can be delivered in a variety of formats across the enterprise. These formats will include instructor led, web based, and online. The Instructional Designer will facilitate positive culture change by incorporating Net Health Mission, Values, and competencies into all work product.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Partners with stakeholders to ensure creation of engaging content which maximizes learning impact, sustainability, and scalability Guides usability design of learning programs by monitoring latest trends in graphical user and interface design and incorporating them, as appropriate
- Designs content structures and learning methodologies for blended solutions, e-Learning courseware, instructor-led, and virtual classroom
- Determines the best modality for delivery of training materials through a blended approach to training.
- Assures training solutions incorporate best practices in adult learning
- Facilitates content and quality assurance reviews to enhance or modify existing learning programs
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to high performance, quality and service excellence
- Consults as instructional design SME for various learning products and content development
- Assesses design impact and makes recommendations for providing best practice implementations.
- Ensures that training content is suitable for delivery and administration through Net Health Learning Management System (LMS)
- Ensures learning projects are defined, implemented and completed on time and on budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s in Instructional design, Instructional Technology, Education, and Distance Learning, Human Performance Technology or related field.
- Instructional systems design credentials (ATD, ISPI, or equivalent)
- Instructional project management
- A.D.D.I.E. and S.A.M. knowledge
- Coaching SMEs in the creation and delivery of learning content
- Mandatory Skills:
- Classroom and Virtual Instructor Led content development and delivery
- eLearning development and publishing skills:
- One or more of the following: MS Word, Publisher, Frame Maker, MS PowerPoint
- One or more of the following: Adobe, Captivate, Lectora/Camtasia, or equivalent
- Excel, MS Access or equivalent
- Learning Management System basic administration
- The ideal candidate has proven experience in creating instructional programs. They will have experience participating in cross departmental teams focused on developing Learning Programs.
- Subject matter expertise in the design and development of instructional materials, incorporating adult learning principles.
- Knowledge of emerging and progressive content design techniques and strategies (i.e. gamification and social learning).
- Knowledge of industry leading best practices in training practices for cloud based applications
- 3-5 years of instructional design experience and management of all phases of the design life cycle.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Collaborates positively and effectively with teammates, and internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion on time and on budget
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to listen actively and responsively.
- High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.
INTERACTION:
This role will work closely with key departmental and project stakeholders across the organization. Therefore, the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organization is a key priority in this role. No supervisory responsibilities required for this position.
