As a key member of the Learning and Development team, the Instructional Designer and Facilitator will play a critical role in supporting continual improvement of Transdev North America learning priorities. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and creating learning solutions that drive measurable impact to the business and align to the organization strategic direction. This role is responsible for partnering with the business to update safety, compliance, employee development, and onboarding training programs. Specifically, the Instructional Designer and Facilitator will be conducting Train the Trainer sessions as well as leading virtual learning workshops monthly on a variety of professional development topics. The role is also responsible for importing courses from 3rd parties into the LMS tools, managing and troubleshooting how courses operate in the LMS tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops Instructor-led and eLearning modules, to support new initiatives and learning programs requested by business partners based on best practices and for continuous improvement purposes
  • Works with program managers, trainers, and the field to maintain existing eLearning modules
  • Collaborates with business to develop new learning deliverables that improve efficiency and effectiveness of the business
  • Manages multiple priorities and projects in an agile framework. Develops and communicates project plans, deliverables and deadlines to leadership.
  • Provides recommendations to the business on how to promote effective learning opportunities
  • Develop a working knowledge of the business and industry, drawing on Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), leadership, and the field for content development
  • Document project storyboards for versioning
  • Develop tools and materials, such as eLearning modules, handbooks, multimedia visual aids, knowledge assessments, etc, to ensure the most effective method is utilized for knowledge delivery and learning transfer
  • Coach and instruct other professionals
  • Load and test 3rd party learning content to the LMS
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

  • This position will be based in Lombard, IL and is a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days in the office a week.
  • Solid understanding of adult learning theory
  • Facilitator certification or Education certification
  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent education and experience required. Major in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Adult Learning, Education, Organization Development, or Business preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of learning and development, instructional design, and eLearning technologies experience
  • Prior experience with learning management systems and various learning delivery modalities, such as self-paced learning, mobile learning, instructor-led learning, asynchronous and synchronous eLearning, and blended learning
Skills and Knowledge Required:
  • Must possess outstanding facilitation, written and oral communication skills and able to interface with all levels within the organization, including senior level executives.
  • Working knowledge of content creation software preferred Articulate Storyline 360.
  • Must be able to flex and adapt to change in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be able to create, maintain and update standard work process documentation.
  • Must be able to prepare and deliver compelling arguments and presentations that influences others and successfully builds coalitions for key initiatives.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Travel requirement: Some travel; less than 15% annually
