    Design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective training curricula, materials, and programs to meet specific needs for Research Operations. Consult and partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to define learning objectives and develop content. Deliver training to a variety of audiences, understanding and applying adult learning principles. Track and monitor training participation and assessment via reporting. Manage and maintain training communications and resources.

    Design and Development
    • Create training curricula, materials, and programs to educate faculty, staff, and administrators engaged in all facets of Research Operations. Assess training needs and partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gain input for course content. Apply a variety of training methodologies to design and deploy programs, workshops, instructor-led classes, computer-based training (CBT), and online courses.
    • Collaborate with business owners to convert local content into training materials. Content creation includes print and digital eLearning materials, video creation and editing, web design basics, presentation materials and support documents (printed/online role-based manuals, workflows, job aids, and standard operating procedures).
    Delivery and Analysis
    • Deliver designed content via a variety of mediums. Serve as a primary presenter.
    • Track and analyze training programs by assessing learners’ satisfaction and proficiency levels.
    • Create and provide quarterly activity reports as a basis for guiding continuous improvement.
    Communications and Leadership
    • Serve as the key functional point of contact for training needs.
    • Coordinate training and education communications activity.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess ongoing and future needs, with focus on identifying opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
    • Identify and champion best practices.
    Maintenance
    • Maintain a centralized online library of training materials.
    • Manage updates and changes from content experts to ensure available materials remain current.
    • Nurture a keen understanding of training trends.

    Qualifications:

    Required Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related field.

    Required Experience
    • Five years of instructional design or training development experience.
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • General knowledge of instructional design and courseware development principles

    Preferred Education
    • Master’s Degree Instructional Design or related field
    Preferred Experience
    • 5+ years working experience in a university setting.
    • Proven record to develop and deliver trainings and workshops for a wide range of learners and subject areas.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Proficient knowledge of Articulate, WordPress, and video and editing software.
    • General knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design practices (e.g. ADDIE).
    • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
    • Energized by teamwork and skilled in cross-functional collaboration.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
    • Capacity for high caliber delivery of customer service.

    Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Working knowledge of research administration, sponsored programs and regulatory compliance areas (i.e. export controls, human subjects research, animal research, conflicts of interest and commitment, responsible conduct of research, data management and security).
    • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials using standard quality assurance and training metrics to make recommendations for improvement.
    • Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.

    Additional Information:

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00 to USD $130,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
