    Responsible for supporting the Rogers Behavioral Health Inc. vision for learning. Works closely with the learning team to develop online, instructor-led and technology-based instructional environments and resources. Uses project management skills to create, facilitate and implement training that increases group and individual effectiveness and capability. Course creation elements shall include, but are not limited to: course design, syllabi, asynchronous and synchronous collaboration tools, online quizzes, assessment, and evaluation. Seeks and presents new ideas for development to increase performance which ultimately improves business results. Provide Learning Management System (LMS) support and related educational technology workshops and hands-on training to staff as necessary. Position requires an experienced and dynamic eLearning professional with in-depth writing, editing and instructional design skills.

    Job Duties and Description:
    • Develop engaging and effective training content for instructor-led, video instructor-led, web-delivered virtual training, as well as self-paced eLearning modules using sound adult learning methods and best delivery approach.
    • Create courses that are dynamic and drive our culture, safety practices, quality services, and lean strategy.
    • Design and develop written knowledge guides, worksheets, instructor and learner manuals, and necessary resources for learners and instructors.
    • Create and implement curriculum evaluations to measure ROI, training effectiveness, and to identify and analyze opportunities for improvement.
    • Provide LMS support as needed. May include data entry in a web-based training platform, posting of course curriculum, tracking enrollment, generating reports, and problem solving as necessary.
    • Create implementation plans to introduce new training and development initiatives, including communications and any necessary support materials.
    • Conducts formal and informal training needs analysis to define requirements, identify potential obstacles and recommend solutions based on the most effective use of resources and having the greatest impact to the overall business results.
    • Assist in assessing the instructional effectiveness of course materials that are produced.
    • Conducts and facilitates training to staff via on-site, videoconferencing and web conferencing.
    • Partner with external vendors to enhance training curriculum, as needed.
    Conduct best practice Instructional Design activities:
    • Define objectives for a course and/or curriculum.
    • Outline the concept for a course or curriculum, defining (needs for) the course medium, content delivery, assessments, accompanying materials, and complementary learning approaches.
    • Quickly synthesize and write course content based on input from subject matter experts, written material, previous training courses, interviews, etc.
    • Use appropriate tools (e.g., PowerPoint) to draft screen layouts, graphics and interactions appropriate to the content.
    • Write the audio script for each course and work with subject matter expert and voice talent to ensure proper pronunciation and style.
    • Design quizzes and meaningful course interactions to increase learning and retention.
    • Serve as and/or work with the curriculum developer, voiceover talent, video production, and graphics sources to produce draft and final versions of each course.
    • Occasionally assist in production (graphics placement, animations, audio importing & editing).
    • Work with subject matter experts and course sponsors to collect feedback and integrate it into the next course draft.
    • Proof course at multiple stages of development and make or document required changes.
    • Work with client personnel via email, phone, and in person to collect information needed to complete modules.
    • Define project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously with the curriculum development. Keep track of project tasks and status using online tools.
    • Participate in team brainstorming and strategy meetings to help define goals and direction.
    • Keep up to date on learning tools, technology, trends, and ideas.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related area required and three (3) years of experience, Master’s degree in Instructional Design preferred.
    • Experience in creating original, interactive content, curriculum development, instructional design, blended learning and technical writing.
    • Experience in the areas of teaching, providing effective customer services, preferably in a healthcare setting, evaluating products, and preparing and presenting reports or presentations is preferred.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Software/Tools:
    • Microsoft Word: basic text formatting functions, tables, bullets and numbering, hanging indents, inserting graphics, tracking changes, accepting comments and changes.
    • Microsoft PowerPoint: basic text formatting, tables, master layouts, text and title placeholders, entering slide notes; ability to use graphic design features to create screen layouts.
    • Microsoft Outlook (or similar) email & calendaring: send, receive, and file email; create & accept calendar appointments & invitations.
    • Experience working in systems such as Adobe Photoshop, Articulate/Articulate Storyline, Captivate, and general knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
