    Job Purpose/Summary

    This is a 3 month contract to hire and the selected candidate will be contracted through a 3rd party agency.

    The Instructional Designer will conduct needs analyses, design, develop, implement, and evaluate technical training, and work with subject matter experts to create eLearning, classroom, live and on-demand virtual training, job aids, and tools. The Instructional Designer contributes to the development and continuous improvement of content creation procedures. This includes developing measurable objectives and measuring outcomes of all new and existing training initiatives using a variety of methods.

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Manage the full lifecycle of the training development process.
    • Design effective and impactful training solutions.
    • Author eLearning content in Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, and similar solutions.
    • Develop practical and engaging facilitator and participant materials including presentations, job aids, and other learning materials that align with the training strategy.
    • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Monitor program material for accuracy and alignment with current practices and updates as necessary.
    • Apply principles of adult learning, learning methodologies, and focused instructional design approaches and processes to training solutions.
    • Create learner-centered materials and utilize appropriate methods to deliver solutions.
    • Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and external organizations to collaborate and create curriculum to fit training needs.
    • Develop outlines, storyboards, scripts, shot lists, and other documents as needed to utilize in the communication and creation of training courses and materials.
    • Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot, and provide solutions associated with issues related to delivery of content.
    • Identify, design, and implement online, blended, and micro-training that align with current programs and are learner-focused.
    • Create supporting media such as voiceover, videos, simulations, role plays, games, etc. to support learning outcomes.
    • Coordination with LMS functions
    • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Facilitate in-person and virtual training as needed.
    • Travel approximately 25%

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

    • Understanding of the ADDIE training development model.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Receives instruction, guidance, and direction from others.
    • Superb verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing.
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with people of varying backgrounds at different levels of the organization.
    • Strong creativity and innovation, including excellent organization, project management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with using coding within eLearning development software
    • Strong training design experience
    • Demonstrated eLearning development experience
    • Strong script/narration writing experience
    • Familiarity with emerging training technologies
    • Project management experience
    • Ability to create visually appealing training materials
    • Experience with computer applications used in a training environment.
    • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.

     

    Educations/ Experience

    • BS or MA degree in instructional design, education, or similar with a minimum of 8+ years of advanced eLearning design and development experience.
    • In lieu of degree, minimum of 12+ years of advanced eLearning design and development experience
