    Job Summary

    As an Instructional Designer at HDR, you will be responsible for designing training for a variety of delivery methods including in-person, virtual instructor-led, eLearning and more. You will manage small and large-scale projects and lead team initiatives. You will analyze training needs, develop learning programs and resources to support learning needs, implement programs aligned to business needs, and measure the impact of learning solutions. The ideal candidate will assess curriculum improvement opportunities, create, and revise training content, and make recommendations as necessary.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Own the end-to-end design and development life-cycle for various training types, including instructor-led courses, virtual training, blended learning, eLearning, and performance support.
    • Conduct needs assessments and training needs analyses, including gap analysis, contextual analysis and root-cause analysis.
    • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify training delivery types and learning objectives.
    • Select and design innovative instructional and learning strategies and associated technologies to optimize learning and achieve learning objectives.
    • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create engaging, interactive, and compelling learning solutions through content that includes video, simulations, gamification, etc.
    • Develop, execute, and test training courses and performance support products.
    • Perform quality assurance and quality control activities, including SME reviews, design reviews, and course pilots.
    • Create and conduct training evaluations, both formative and summative, across all levels for maximum impact.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with training project plans and schedules.
    • Manage and execute all aspects of training projects, including schedules, resources, and scope.
    • Assist in creating processes and procedures for better efficiency.
    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or closely related field
    • Highly collaborative with the ability to manage multiple projects.
    • Experience in all phases of the ADDIE model.
    • Knowledge and understanding of learning theories, instructional methodologies, and design standards to design and develop interactive learning for various delivery methods.
    • Strong background in project management.
    • Excellent communication and relationship skills with strong capabilities to partner with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in learning authoring tools: i.e., PowerPoint, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Suite, Vyond, etc.
    • Experience working with and managing a Learning Management System (LMS).
    Preferred Qualifications
    • 3+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer creating curriculum, designing, and developing multi-modality learning such as eLearning, traditional instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, etc.
