The designer will partner with Customer Service management and other stakeholders to plan, design, and develop learning experiences that enlighten, educate, and support the performance of our unique Customer Service department.
The designer will create, execute, and maintain a Customer Service departmental training and learning strategy and will use their expertise in adult learning theory and instructional design, with a broad focus on learning technology and delivery, to engage with SMEs and stakeholders in the development of quality learning experiences in ILT, vILT, eLearning, and video modalities. The designer will also develop performance support materials and job-aids.
More specifically, Wespath’s instructional designer will contribute in the following ways:
- Conduct a deep dive analysis on the training content and learning experience for each customer service team to understand what is working and what needs to be improved.
- Make recommendations for training that will speed up the time to productivity for new hires, while reducing the overall time cost of training for other employees.
- Develop learning content and manage curriculums for Customer Service employees so they can execute their tasks and serve our participants efficiently and accurately.
- Develop content and activities for ILT/vILT training sessions and eLearning/video content for LMS delivery that supports new hires, existing employees, and supervisors.
- Create training content and activities for training related to organizational projects such as system upgrades & new system rollouts when they impact the Customer Service Department. Partner with the L&D Specialist – Customer Service to plan and deliver this content.
- Evaluate the current Customer Service knowledge base and make recommendations to make it more effective as on on-call/real time support tool; assist with the implementation of changes and manage the maintenance routine for the content.
- Create job aids and other post training resources so Customer Service reps can apply their training on the job. Partner with SMEs and reviewers to ensure these materials stay up to date and are accurate.
- Develop working knowledge in a multitude of areas including benefits plans, procedures, call handling, and Wespath software applications and other products.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, learning technology, instructional design, education, or a related field OR equivalent work experience
- 5 years proven experience developing learning for instructor led, virtual instructor led, self-paced eLearning, and video formats
- Experience with needs analysis, task analysis, curriculum design/development, and storyboarding
- Advanced experience with eLearning content development applications: Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, and some experience with Adobe Captivate
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications; especially, PowerPoint, Word
- Strong planning and project management focus with the ability to quickly develop outstanding solutions in a fast paced and quickly changing environment
- Working knowledge of learning management system (LMS) architecture
- Knowledge of adult learning theory
