The Opportunity

As a valued Instructional Designer II for Contact Center Claims, you fulfill the mission by empowering the Contact Center Claims team with the knowledge and skills needed to serve members with excellence. You accomplish this through the creation of impactful, engaging learning experiences, all with the support, creative oversight, and feedback of senior designers and leaders on your team. This includes leveraging data, interviewing subject matter experts, and designing and developing lessons in a variety of formats to best meet learning and performance needs (facilitated/eLearning/video etc.).

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you’ll do:

• Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
• Follows written risk and compliance policies, standards, and procedures for business activities.
• Under direct supervision, assists with designing and developing interactive facilitator-led and online content to meet the learning needs of the business.
• Assists with the development of timelines and milestones.
• Ensures consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines.
• Develops an understanding of the business, its products, and processes to assist with the design and development of learning curriculum to improve performance of USAA employees.
• Under direct supervision, gathers information and analyzes data trends.
• Assists team with the resolution of issues. Identifies appropriate issues for escalation.

What you have:

• Bachelor’s degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required.
• 2 years progressive work experience in instructional design to include training industry experience and advanced knowledge of instructional design tools and methodologies.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, project management skills, multi-tasking, and project flexibility.
• Strong communication skills with ability to plan, prioritize, monitor, and respond to changes quickly.
• Experience with instructional authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360 and/or Adobe Suite.

What sets you apart:

• Experience in Property or Auto Claims.
• Instructional Design Degree and/or Certifications.
• 2 years of experience with Articulate 360.
• 2 years of experience with Adobe Products (After Effects, Creative Cloud, etc.).
• 2 years of experience with Vyond.
• Experience with Jira Project Management or similar project management tool.
• US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

What we offer:

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $59,290 – $106,230.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
