The Instructional Designer and Developer builds world-class, highly engaging training for Marco’s team members at all levels; from an hourly team member to the Executive Team, via multiple delivery methods (e.g., Instructor Led Training, webinars, workshops, video, audio, eLearning, etc.). Applies sound instructional design theory and methods to transform research regarding performance gaps into value-added, highly effective training and learning solutions. Determines objectives, researches, and writes learner centered content in scripts and storyboards. Designs instructional activities, authors eLearning courses, and produces training materials and videos for Marco’s University.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform needs assessments that lead to data-driven design proposals and production plans
  • Work with SMEs and learners to document processes, identify training needs (gaps), and then build quality, measurable learning objectives (criterion) to describe those performance needs
  • Research, collect, curate, and write instructional content, course outlines, scripts, and storyboards
  • Research and identify delivery approaches, training methodologies, and technologies that are appropriate to the expected audience (e.g., hourly employee, salaried managers, Support Center staff, Executives, etc.)
  • Design high-impact, criterion-based learning experiences to improve team member performance that is reflected in business results
  • Develop training materials to optimize the use of technology and ensure appropriate delivery methods for adult learners
  • Create facilitator guides, participant materials, videos, webinars, and audio scripts and other instructional performance support materials and instructional manuals
  • Plan and coordinate video and photo shoots, and produce and edit audio, videos, and photos
  • Author e-learning courses using Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise and Camtasia, Adobe CC
  • Manage multiple projects to complete project tasks and deliver results on time and within budget
  • Perform other tasks as directed to build Marco’s University into a best-in-class learning & development institution in support of Marco’s Franchising, LLC.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of experience building training curriculum for multiple methods of delivery
  • Experience in audio and video production and editing
  • Experience and demonstrable level of proficiency with Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, InDesign,
  • Adobe CC
  • Some travel may be required, likely less than 20%
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be able to fly on commercial airlines on short notice
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree, or Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Training and Development, Adult Education (in a Corporate Environment), or Technical Writing and Instruction
  • Experience developing VR/AR training
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Work experience in Hospitality Industry
  • Industry standard certifications (e.g., ASTD, AMA, CPLP) in Instructional Design
Physical Requirement(s):
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs unassisted

  • Able to quickly identify and grasp emerging learning and training theories and apply them proficiently in the conceptualization, building, and delivery of corporate training programs

  • Must be able to operate within, and certify on, Marco’s Franchising LLC’s Cultural Tools
  • Must be well spoken, and able to communicate effectively in English
