Position Description
Develop instructional materials and products and assist in the technology-based redesign of courses. Assist faculty in learning about, becoming proficient in, and applying instructional technology.
Major/Essential Functions
- Guide faculty and course developers in the design and development of quality and compliant online courses and programs based on best practices for online and distance learning.
- Assist participants to complete design and development projects in a timely manner.
- Help faculty and course developers design, develop, assess, and review courses to meet quality rubric standards.
- Assist faculty and course developers in utilizing educational tools and LMS features to create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, simulation, games, etc.).
- Utilize universal design for learning principles.
- Assist in the development of online, distance, and web-supported coursework in a fully accessible and copyright compliant format.
- Plan and manage instructional design projects and documentation.
- Be familiar with and actively participate in the functions of the Worldwide eLearning faculty support team including Blackboard Support, Instructional Design, Emerging Technology, and Accessibility.
- Ensure course content aligns with appropriate state or program/course objectives.
- Applicant must have knowledge of online learning, UDL, accessible course design, assessment, and best practices in distance/online learning.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus one year of related experience; or a combination of education and/or related experience to equal 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Online Learning, Higher Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
- Knowledge of the Blackboard Learning Management System
