Instructional Design Coordinator Overview:
- The Organizational Development & Training (ODT) Instructional Design Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing development of training curricula and resources.
- Responsible for instructional design and development of Canopy’s training products and curricula in coordination with the ODT Manager and leadership.
- Utilizes the organization’s subject matter experts and live training events to produce online training resources.
- Must be certified in organization required trainings and assist with the provision of training to employees.
- Ability to train using standardized curriculum for organization approved practices and models.
- Implement and manage live training events including webinars, workshops, symposiums, and conferences.
- Must be solution oriented and able to work constructively and cooperatively with the field and all levels of management and administration.
Job Responsibilities:
Instructional Design
- Coordinate with the ODT Manager to develop training resources;
- Design & revise online courses and curricula, including video library for orientation & annual training.
- Meet with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop content for online courses;
- Design, maintain and update training materials as assigned: course agendas, presentations, handouts, and training curricula;
- Maintain a storage plan for eLearning assets, including video and course files.
- Monitor compliance of eLearning content, in accordance with regulatory authorities and the federal and state laws.
- Provide training and technical support to employees and others who interact with the learning management system.
- Training materials development for in-CIRCLE trainings
- New trauma pilot (PowerPoints, media, etc.)
- NCFAS training
- Course development for in-CIRCLE specific training in coordination with Subject Matter Experts
- Support for online in-CIRCLE trainings, including Zoom moderation and facilitation.
Live Training
- Complete trainer certifications as assigned and maintain active trainer status.
- Training includes assisting with new hire, annual and program training including program symposiums or conferences.
- Provide training presentations in areas of certification as assigned.
- Provide training presentations based on subject matter expertise.
- Schedule and provide customized trainings.
- Travel to region and local sites to conduct or oversee training events or sessions, occasionally involves overnight travel.
- Provide training logistical support.
Other Duties
- Develop and carry out personal professional development plan.
- Assist the ODT manager with the management of Continuing Education, including online registration, record keeping, maintaining files, registration at CE events, and CE certificates.
- Attend Organizational Development and Training staff meetings.
- Participate in organization committees and work groups as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Education, Social Sciences Technology, or related field of study required, plus a minimum of two (2) years of teaching or workforce development training required.
- Experience with online e-learning management systems required. Proficient in computer skills and software programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Captivate or Articulate and Adobe Creative Cloud. Experienced with the use of audiovisual equipment.
- Knowledge of basic principles, methods, and techniques involved in the development and administration of training.
- Must possess a valid Mississippi driver’s license and be able to be covered by the organization’s insurance carrier.
- Possible travel up to 10%.
- Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field preferred.
