Ireland based EdTech 'Digital Learning Institute' Raises $1.9M to Expand Operations

The Digital Learning Institute (DLI), the Ireland-based provider of digital learning courses and upskilling programs, has recently announced that it has raised $1.9 million (€1.8 million) in a funding round led by Davy EIIS Fund (a joint venture between BDO and Davy), with participation from Enterprise Ireland, and private investors from the digital learning industry. With this investment round, the startup plans to expand operations, creating ten more jobs over the next 12 months and its business reach, focusing on the US and UK markets.

Founded in 2021 by John Kilroy and Nicola O’Neill, Digital Learning Institute’s mission is to offer a world-class education to help learning professionals, trainers, instructors, and educators reach their potential as digital learning professionals. Glasgow Caledonian University and industry leaders accredit its courses to ensure the platform sets the global standard for digital learning education. With its hands-on approach, one-to-one mentoring, and project-based work, the company aims to graduate students with all the tools and skills needed to advance their careers in digital learning so they can produce high-quality digital learning experiences.

Commenting on the fundraising, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, Leo Clancy, said:

DLI is bringing innovation and adaptability to the critical area of upskilling and lifelong learning that can benefit the workforce and the broader economy. Under the leadership of new CEO Aaron McKenna, we are confident that DLI can go from strength to strength and expand its global footprint.

DLI has helped over 5000 students realize their potential as digital learning professionals with career advancements or accreditation as they enter a field. As part of the transaction, the company brings on board Aaron McKenna as the new CEO to spearhead growth.
