-

Crafty Workshop, a leading e-learning platform specializing in the creative industries, has received a $400,000 seed funding round led by EdVentures. This additional financing will fuel the startup Workshop’s growth and expansion goals. The platform also aims to expand its operations to the Gulf Region, diversify its content offerings to include 500 creative industries subjects by 2024, and produce a specific product for schools involved in innovative productions.

Founded in 2019 by Hadeer Shalaby and Amgad Moustafa, Crafty Workshop offers creative courses and workshops for people interested in art, design, illustration, programming, game development, photography, animation, handicraft, and more. The Egyptian startup focuses on providing affordable and high-quality education, allowing students to develop their creative skills and pursue their passions. In addition to its role as an educational platform, the company also serves as a vocational skills training provider, addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment. Offering vocational training programs equips learners with the necessary knowledge and skills, helping them secure job placements and career opportunities.

Expressing excitement about the future prospects, Co-founder of Crafty Workshop, Hadeer Shalaby, said:

We are thrilled to have received this investment from EdVentures, which will enable us to accelerate our growth and significantly impact the EdTech space. We are excited to expand our reach to the Gulf Region, enrich our content library, and enhance our offerings for schools involved in creative productions.

Maged Harby, General Manager of EdVentures, stated:

We are delighted to continue supporting Crafty Workshop. Our initial investment in 2019 marked the beginning of a successful partnership, and since then, Crafty has made remarkable strides in both the Egyptian market and the Gulf region. At EdVentures, we are committed to investing in endeavors that foster innovation in the EdTech ecosystem and contribute to developing human capabilities. Crafty Workshop aligns perfectly with our vision and mission.
