    The Technical Instructional Designer for Generac Clean Energy will create and deliver training curriculum that is focused on a variety of topics related to Generac’s solar + storage solutions for residential applications. Topics include but are not limited to: onboarding, professional skills, leadership skills, practical/technical skills, systems training, process training, and safety/compliance training.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Attend meetings, gather specifications, and ask questions to deliver training programs that meet requirements for key training objectives
    Work with subject matter experts at various levels of the organization to obtain objectives, content, and agreement with maximum efficiency and professionalism
    Design and develop key training content to accommodate various learning styles
    Develop training curriculum consisting of illustrated visual presentations for use in e-learning courses, training videos, and in-person classroom sessions
    Develop workbooks, job aids, role-play exercises, and supplementary handouts to aid in the delivery of curriculum
    Online curriculum development will include audio recording and editing, video editing, and working with authoring software such as Articulate 360
    Manage and maintain curriculum, materials, and process documentation as needed or requested with close attention to detail and version control
    Oversee training program implementation and execution
    Other responsibilities may include presenting curriculum to employees in a classroom or virtual setting as well as soliciting feedback and tracking effectiveness

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree.
    3-5 years’ experience designing, developing, and delivering technical education
    Solid understanding of teaching principles, lesson planning, and learning styles
    Experience with Articulate Storyline and Adobe Software
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with developing training material for highly complex products including power electronics, solar + storage, and energy management equipment
    Experience in residential solar or similar electrical applications a plus
    Experience developing course material with Captivate, Storyline or other comparable software
    Experience creating and delivering corporate training
    In-depth understanding of basic electrical concepts, including AC and DC power
    Familiarity with common electrical trade practices and tools.
    Understanding of residential electrical systems – hands on experience a plus
    Familiarity with the NEC
    NABCEP certification a plus
    Experience with Learning Management Systems
    Experience with eLearning technical standards (SCORM, AICC, xAPI)

    Knowledge and Skills:
    Familiarity with adult learning principles
    Knowledge of Photoshop and Microsoft Office software
    Knowledge of authoring software such as Articulate 360/Storylin, Adobe eLearning Suite, or similar
    Physical Demand s: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.

    Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this remote role is $76,000 to $114,000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans; life, long-term disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accrued paid time off, paid Holidays and 401(k) retirement benefits.
