    eLearning Developer (Learning Specialist 2) $67,800 – $107,700

    As an eLearning Developer at this level, you will develop engaging, complex, and compliant multimedia training and synthesize training requirements into effective, visually compelling, and informative presentations. eLearning Developers collaborate with stakeholders across the Laboratory to assure projects meet customer needs, regulatory drivers, and contractual requirements. This level of Developer may provide guidance in interpreting regulations and policies to ensure training compliance and will work within the LANL Learning Management System (LMS) to setup, prepare troubleshoot, and manage LANL eLearning products.

    eLearning Developer (Learning Specialist 3) $81,700 – $133,100
    In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level applies in-depth understanding of adult learning and training development practices and processes. The Learning Specialist 3 demonstrates high level software skills in the applications such as Articulate StoryLie 3/360, Microsoft Office, and relevant Adobe Creative Suite and works with minimal direct supervision to accomplish designated tasks and coordinate activities with other training personnel.
    What You Need

    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Instructional Design

    • Experience in the design and development of online courses that are consistent with foundational instructional design/adult learning principles.
    • Knowledge of adult learning theory and performance-based eLearning techniques.

    eLearning Design

    • Demonstrated experience in designing media rich activities and knowledge assessments that may include video, audio, infographics, or other engaging elements.
    • Proficiency with common business, instructional design for eLearning training and Learning Management System Software.
    • Proficiency with Articulate SL3/360 or equivalent, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite

    Communications and Customer Service

    • Demonstrated effective skills with interpersonal, written, and verbal communications within a diverse audience.

    Organizational Skills

    • Experience in managing projects expectations, and timelines.

    Additional Job Requirements for eLearning Developer (Learning Specialist 3):

    In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:

    eLearning Design

    • Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate and resolve technical issues pertaining to training content.

    Communications and Customer Service

    • Ability to transfer knowledge effectively to both technical and non-technical personnel
    • Ability to lead meetings with all levels of personal.

    Organizational Skills

    • Demonstrated ability to track and measure program progression and prioritize competing deadlines.

    Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field. 4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the position.

    Education/Experience at higher level: Position requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a related field. 8 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the position.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience in video editing and production, audio recording, graphic design or motion graphics, web development (HTML), and JavaScript.
    • Experience with production of videos and photography.
    • Basic knowledge of Department of Energy (DOE) training, qualification, and readiness drivers and requirements as they pertain to nuclear facilities.
    • LANL Training Staff Qualification Program qualified (TSQP)
    • DOE Clearance
    • Knowledge of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Section 508 compliance and how it pertains to accessibility of web content.

    Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.

    Additional Details

    Directive 206.2 – Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2.     • Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

    No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

    New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

    Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

    Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
