About the Department and Role
As the Instructional Coordinator at JobTrain, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for students pursuing Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. In addition, this role serves as a support for our staff of instructors and Career Development Specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Curriculum Development:
- Support JobTrain instructors and the Instructional team in maintaining and developing innovative curricula for CTE programs.
- Assist the Manager of Instruction in reviewing and auditing the existing JobTrain CTE curriculum and update as needed
- Contribute to creating high-quality, engaging, and relevant curriculum materials that align with industry standards and best practices.
- Support the redesign of our Essential Skills curriculum for CTE courses, ensuring standardization and effective curriculum implementation.
- Collaborate with community partners to discuss, evaluate, and develop new curriculum and consider new and innovative programming.
- Essential Skills Program Management:
- Support in the updating of JobTrain’s Essential Skills program, which integrates soft skill curriculum into our CTE courses
- Connect with JobTrain staff, community partners, and eLearning platform, Metrix Learning, to create a strong soft skills curriculum that will support our CTE student’s success in the workforce. Ensure the educational content learning system’s smooth operation and continual improvement
- Assessment and Feedback:
- Conduct regular assessments of our current CTE curricula to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate the distribution, collection, and analysis of our end-of-class surveys, utilizing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Accreditation and Compliance:
- Collaborate with the Manager of Instruction and the JobTrain staff to maintain WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation.
- Adhere to and implement school policies while supporting initiatives for accreditation processes.
- Professional Development:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in CTE education and integrate relevant insights into curriculum development.
- Attend seminars, engage in professional development, and participate in relevant professional organizations to ensure continuous growth.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document processes and outcomes using a variety of tools, maintaining clear records of curriculum development activities.
- Collaborate with the Manager of Instruction, Manager of Career Development, and Director of Career Training and Education to analyze and improve processes related to our CTE programs
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the JobTrain team, aligning efforts with the organization’s Mission, Values, and School-Wide Learning Objectives.
- Commitment to Growth and Engagement:
- Attend faculty and staff meetings, on-site professional development workshops, and participate in our school-wide graduation ceremonies.
- Candidate should be comfortable leading professional development sessions for JobTrain instructors and staff
Qualifications

Experience
- Must have a background in education, curriculum development, and/or educational technology
- Applicants must have previous classroom teaching experience (secondary or postsecondary)
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (ex: Canvas)
- Experience with eLearning platforms preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with WASC accreditation or other accreditation processes is required
- Project planning or project management experience is a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to travel to different sites as needed, within Santa Clara & San Mateo Counties, including evenings and weekends

Compensation and Benefits:
JobTrain offers a competitive salary and benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, vision, paid time off, retirement program employer match, long-term disability and life insurance and more.
The targeted pay range for this position is: $64,064.97 – $75,370.
