Training Manager Job

BAE Systems is hiring a Remote Training and Development Manager – Operations for our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business. This position will help define, design, and implement training framework for the CMS organization of over 4,000 personnel. Serve as a Learning Advocate and will display respect and sensitivity to individuals across a diverse environment.

Location/Schedule/Travel:

• This role can be based close to any CMS site: Aberdeen, South Dakota; Aiken, South Carolina; Anniston, Alabama; Louisville, Kentucky; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Phoenix, Arizona; San Jose, California; Sterling Heights, Michigan; or York, Pennsylvania
• This is a remote role where you can work from home and go onsite weekly/monthly/quarterly, to meet business needs
• This role is on a 9/80 schedule where you will have every other Friday off
• This role may require up to 25% travel

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of L&D specialists and administrative functions that support training across CMS.
• Promote, deliver, track, and assist in development across the organization for INC level, Sector level, CMS level down to station level training.
• Assist in the development and rollout of the training framework in close coordination with site leaders and will report directly to the CMS Training manager within the CMS organization.
• Framework will include identifying target audience’s priorities, evaluating third party training options, and/or coordinating with internal Subject Matter Experts (SME) to develop and execute effective training rollout formats.
• Collaboratively identify CMS training and development needs including regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements, technical implementation needs, and emerging and technical development requirements.
• Lead with creativity and flexibility in the development of requirements that may be standardized across CMS, as well as uniquely tailored for specialized functional practices within unique operations.
• Assess training needs, consolidate training resources across the business unit, and identify and fulfill learning requirements across a diverse set of disciplines ranging from (a) USG regulatory requirements and (b) company requirements, including safety, security, planning, and manufacturing execution needs for a dynamic and geographically dispersed organization.
• Ensure training objectives are set, the logistics of training conduct are coordinated, delivered, tracked, and evaluated for continuous improvement opportunities across CMS.
• Define training requirements and priorities in conjunction with Operations and Management teams.
• Interface with internal customers, departmental functional areas, SMEs, and professional third party training personnel, to ensure training delivery is planned and implemented in a timely manner, in coordination with organization objectives.
• Proactively research training and development options for timely and effective roll-out to appropriate levels within the organization.
• Ensure successful execution through the project lifecycle including Planning and Analysis, Execution and Solution Deployment, and Benefit realization.
• Efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, results oriented, and data-drive environment.
• Project management includes (a) management of project deliverables, scope, and quality; (b) proactive risk identification and mitigation; (c) resource management including coordination; (d) management of requirements, priorities, and alignment with organizational objectives; (e) schedule management and executing to the strategy/plan; (f) design, configuration, test, deployment, and release management; (g) coordination and communications, strong internal relationship management, and working with third-party providers.
• Establish well-defined, measurable success criteria for learning objectives without direct authority.
• Clearly define and/or track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to establish and maintain metrics that provide quantifiable information to track performance and/or progress.
• Assess effectiveness of implementation via data, review feedback and adapt as needed to ensure effectiveness of execution and promote future strategic training initiatives.
• Ensure that the right tools and processes are in place to effectively monitor results across the organization.
• Continuously evaluate emerging needs, assess available options, and/or drive the development of training formats, while weighing tradeoff considerations.
• Identify and drive improvement initiatives that optimize results and ensure best return on investment without adding risk or disruption.
• Facilitate training sessions for all levels of employees within the organization.
• Champion innovation, process improvement, continuous learning, and change management to drive competitive advantage.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience or equivalent experience
• Experience in Training and Development Management
• Experience in Program/Project/Operations Management
• Experience in People Management/Leadership
• Experience in Manufacturing/Production Operations Training
• Experience in Adult Learning Theories/ADDIE
• Experience in eLearning Software (i.e. Articulate 360)
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to assess and evaluate areas of critical need
• Ability to interface with internal and external business partners
• Continuous improvement and change management skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Graduate Degree in related field
• Experience in Defense/Government Contracting
• Experience in Technical process development, implementation, and training
• Experience in developing technical or digital learning content and materials

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $99800 – $169700

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
