    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Instructional Designer has overall responsibility for developing learning content and managing environments of AtriCure’s professional education certification programs for internal employees as well as physicians. Focus is on designing learning experiences and materials that are engaging and impactful. The instructional designer works with all members of the Professional Education team as well as cross functionally with Clinical Education, Marketing, Product Management, Regulatory and Engineering.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

    • Develop innovative learning and support materials including eLearning, webinars, assessments, and print applying instructional design and adult learning principles
    • Incorporate learning technologies within courses/curricula, including digital media, social learning, gaming, visual learnings, as appropriate
    • Work with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to develop learning objectives for all programs
    • Ensure that all presented material (IFUs, eLearning, presentations, customer tools, etc.) is up to date and consistent with current product iteration, procedure and technique, and software version
    • Ensure training and certification material is consistent with sales and marketing messaging
    • Build assessments to support and analyze learning effectiveness
    • Evaluate instructional methodologies for effectiveness and drive improvements
    • Develop and manage material for online customer training, internal eLearning, field-team training, presentations and customer learning/support materials which facilitate the achievement of AtriCure objectives
    • Manage delivery of all content through AtriCure’s content approval process and ensure it is posted in proper locations
    • Work with outside consultants and contractors to accomplish content management objectives
    • Advise AtriCure teams on best practice recommendations to promote learning and retention across a wide range of audiences and programs

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar
    • Three or more years of experience in instructional design and adult learning, preferably in the cardiovascular medical device industry
    • Experience with content delivery methodologies including eLearning, mobile learning, print, web, and audio/visual presentations
    • Ability to communicate ideas and information (oral and written) clearly, effectively and frequently
    • Proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Captivate, In Design and/or other tools to develop training content to be delivered via a learning management system.
    • Experience of learning management systems, Cornerstone On Demand a plus

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed
    • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull as needed
    • Ability to pass pre-employment background check

    For this position, the base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience). You may also be entitled to receive bonus and commission, car allowance, benefits, and more.
