Instructional Designer Job

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, design, develop, and implement online and blended course development for the Division. With limited supervision, the Instructional Designer is responsible for designing effective, interactive, high-quality instruction for technology-enabled learning environments.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Design and develop innovative online and blended learning modules
Script/storyboard eLearning lessons using various software applications, including Storyline
Recommend development solutions to solve complex problems
Coordinate with cross-functional team to ensure delivery of high-quality training
Manages projects including timelines, development costs, content and assessment development, audio and video recording/editing, and digitizing media
Maintain curriculum repository
Streamline processes to maximize efficiency and exceptional delivery of training
Solve problems applying critical thinking and consulting mindset
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum three years full-time work experience in development
Minimum three years online curriculum development experience
Preferred Qualifications
Project management experience.
Experience creating and editing audio and video recordings.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of instructional design
Knowledge of adult learning theory
Proficient computer skills, including Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canvas LMS Audio and video editing skills
Ability to design creative, instructionally sound training solutions within budget and timeline constraints
Ability to use web-based authoring tools
Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written
Ability to conduct online research
Ability to work in a team setting
Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage multiple aspects of a large project
Ability to innovate and problem solve
Ability to learn and follow college policies and procedures
Excellent organizational skills
PC & Mac proficient
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, abilities, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and maintain good working relationships across the college
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities
