    We are seeking a high-energy, organized professional that is committed to quality client service. The Global Investment Banking (GIB) Instructional Designer will work closely with our Director of Talent and subject matter experts to deliver technology and business-focused content along with innovative learning and development programs and experiences, that are thoughtfully designed to help our associates at every stage of their career.

    As an Instructional Designer, you will
    • Create, evaluate, and maintain content to support training for technology projects and products including change management initiatives
    • Design, develop and implement learning programs that develop proficiency through engaging and interactive content
    • Develop content that improves retention and skill transfer within a quick turnaround time
    • Develop content in various formats, including but not limited to, online (formal eLearning, videos, etc.) instructor-led courses (in-person or virtual), performance support (job aids), and reference guides for GIB-related technology
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and thorough
    • Regularly maintain and enhance existing technology related content
    • Develop and implement methods to evaluate program results and continuously improve learning effectiveness
    • Collaborate with the corporate Talent Development team in the execution of in-person training programs for new hires, interns and current employees; including but not limited to, logistics, participant communication, agenda, program evaluation and continuous improvement
    • Assist in development and continuous improvement of an effective onboarding program for new hires, utilizing on-demand content where applicable
    • Design and maintain the Learning and Development content for the GIB Web (SharePoint), including regular content updates and communication plans
    • Support execution of special projects as needed

     

    What we look for:
    • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in HR, Education or related field or equivalent experience in professional curriculum design and development related experience
    • 2+ years of instructional design or training experience, with a strong focus on technology in a corporate or academic setting
    • Knowledge of principles and methods for design of adult learning programs and content, instruction of individuals and groups, media-based learning and measurement of training effectiveness
    • Must possess a sense of urgency with a true desire to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional client service
    • Excellent interpersonal and effective presentation skills including written, verbal and visual communication
    • Proven track record of project management within cross functional team environment, supporting multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
    • Highly collaborative and able to work with limited supervision
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
    • Experience developing training programs and content, with ability to tailor for different audiences
    • Ability to adapt, manage ambiguity and solve problems proactively and creatively
    • Quick learner comfortable with new technologies; experience with software applications for authoring and managing content, including learning and authoring tools (e.g., Storyline 360, Captivate, Camtasia), learning management systems (e.g., Workday), CRM (Salesforce) MS Office, SharePoint, Adobe suite
    • Experience in a financial services industry or professional services firm is preferred
    • Open to travel to Baird’s GIB offices (in US and Europe)
