The Learning and Development Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills, knowledge, and performance of our employees to drive the continued success of our company. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will be responsible for creating, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs tailored to our unique retail grocery environment, wholesale distribution, real estate, and corporate entities. The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for developing and managing and/or sourcing the training programs needed to ensure the success of the company’s workforce. Close collaboration with key stakeholders in other departments across the company is imperative. The Learning and Development Manager is responsible for coordinating the delivery of training by subject matter experts or managers, as well as personally delivering training.
Selected Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of a long-term talent development strategy aligned with the Human Resource strategy and company strategic plan.
- Identify opportunities for career growth and succession planning within the organization.
- Introduce and administer a career path methodology that allows employees to identify all company career opportunities and career paths, while providing for self-directed developmental planning to move into the desired career path.
- Collaborate with RLT – Retail Leadership Team to drive centralization and standardization of sales, customer interaction, merchandising and product management processes throughout all locations.
- Collaborate with HR team members to integrate training and development initiatives into the overall HR strategy.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development throughout the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5 years proven experience as a Learning and Development Manager or in a similar role. Retail or grocery industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Experience with eLearning development tools and learning management systems.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills; both oral and written.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
- Certification in training and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTD) is a plus.
- Must be able to travel 25-35% of the time within Company locations.
