    Working closely with subject matter experts the Instructional Designer will develop the overall vision & deployment of a world-class training curriculum for our Dealer network focused on installation and service of on-market and next-generation clean energy products. This highly technical training will be offered in a variety of modalities including e-learning, in-person instructor lead, live webinar, and “pro-tip” style videos. The Instructional Designer will also contribute to our internal employee curriculum for onboarding technical customer/dealer employees.
     
    This highly visible role will be given the responsibility and freedom to shape the next generation of clean energy electricians and installers. The successful candidate will be a master of creating engaging content using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate and/or other programs while working cross-functionally with service, engineering, marketing, and sales personnel.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and execute on a long-term strategy for Clean Energy training curriculum.
    • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to develop and maintain an on-brand scalable templates for all Generac Clean Energy technical training content.
    • Design and develop training materials using blended, adult learning principles/ methodologies, and established team standards and best practices.
    • Develop content outlines, storyboards, and scripts for self-paced e-learning modules.
    • Create and edit audio and video collateral.
    • Visually organize content for learning purposes using materials gathered from subject matter experts.
    • Oversee training program implementation and execution.
    • Track metrics of training content to ensure success of all training material.
    • Alongside SMEs, hold “train-the-trainer” events to ensure successful and consistent in-person trainings

     

    Minimal Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree 
    • 5 years of demonstratable & proven instructional design/development/delivery experience
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • In-depth understanding of basic electrical concepts, including AC and DC
    • Familiarity with common electrical trade practices and tools
    • Experience developing course material with Captivate, Storyline or other comparable products
    • Deep understanding of residential electrical systems, hands on experience a plus.
    • Familiarity with the NEC
    • NABCEP certification a plus.
    • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
    • Experience with eLearning technical standards (SCORM, AICC, xAPI)
     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Familiarity with adult learning principles;
    • Knowledge of Photoshop and Microsoft Office software
    • Knowledge of authoring software such as Adobe eLearning Suite or similar
    Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.  The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
     
     
    Compensation: Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  The salary range for this role is $76,000-$114000. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled.  Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location.  This role is eligible for variable compensation including short term and long-term incentives.
