    The Senior Learning and Development (L&D) Consultant plays a key role in developing and delivering L&D strategies and solutions to meet business objectives. The focus is to build and support sustainable learning and development programs across Jackson. The priority is to develop, design and facilitate programs to grow Jackson’s internal talent, developing and preparing the talent pipeline through learning opportunities, career planning and coaching.

     

    Essential Responsibilities

     

    • Works with L&D management to develop and maintain a learning and development strategy, to include assessing and evolving the learning and development programs to support career growth and support a coaching and mentoring culture.
    • Consults with the business and HR business consultants to identify, design and implement programs to support current and future development needs.
    • Designs, develops, implements, and assesses L&D strategies, processes, and required governance to increase focus on development, performance, career management, and retention of talent.
    • Executes the development strategy through a blend of in-person workshops, experiential learning, online sessions, eLearning, performance support tools, assessments, and other approaches and resources.
    • Delivers and supports the facilitation of engaging learning opportunities through a variety of modalities, including in-person, virtual and hybrid instructor-led training.
    • Develops and executes approaches to build organizational capability through development planning that could include development activities such as targeted assignments, experiential learning, coaching, and leadership programs.
    • Stays current on latest developments in talent development, learning, and coaching trends.
    • Applies a human performance methodology to the design, development, implementation and measurement of programs and processes, aligned with meeting the company’s objectives.
    • Acts as an expert in instructional design and emerging delivery methods.
    • Continues to identify ways to deliver courses and consulting offerings that are both engaging and delivered in an efficient manner and drive the right learning outcomes.
    • As appropriate, works with leaders and associates at all levels, with the goal of driving effective development solutions.
    • Leads and facilitates meetings, focus groups, and other working sessions to help solve difficult problems, align disparate viewpoints, gather data, and build capabilities.
    • Ongoing refinement, improvement and development of learning solutions that reflect learner needs and business priorities.
    • Develops a strong working knowledge of the business, understanding of subject matter, and impact on audience for course content development.
    • Implements a communications plan to continuously promote and highlight available learning opportunities.
    • Contributes a high degree of thought leadership in measuring learning outcomes.
    • Provides group facilitation and individual coaching support for the business, where relevant and requested.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

     

    • Proven ability to conduct training needs analysis, ensuring that solutions address the correct root cause, and that the impact to the business is measurable.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of Adult Learning Theory, culture, and management and HR practices.
    • Proven ability to work with leaders at all levels, as a consultant, resource, coach and mentor.
    • Strong understanding of instructional design, and a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver programs for individuals at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong facilitation skills, ability to leverage facilitator skill and experience, participant knowledge, and participation to maximize impact.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and processes, organize deliverables and resources, and prioritize details to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to operate independently with limited oversight.
    • Ability to travel 10-20%.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and influence skills.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • Master’s Degree with emphasis in HR, Industrial/Organization Psychology, Business Administration or related field preferred.
    • 5+ years experience in Talent or Leadership development and assessment, development, delivery and measurement of training programs required.
    • 8+ years years of Human Resources experience preferred.
